||Chapter 84: The Cultist's Plans||

Jay and Nicky sat on the Peterson's Porch after Nicky was free.
"Well. . . From now on, I'm carrying lock picks everywhere I go. But Dad, how did you know I was in there?"
Jay chuckled,"It may be crazy to believe, but a Crow lead me to ya.", to that, they heard a Crow and watched as it sat on the tree.
"Huh. . ."
"Crows are very smart, intelligent; Maybe they wanted to help you."
Nicky smiled,"Can we set up the bird feeder, like a thank you.", Jay nods, he probably should remember to do that.

Aaron and Mya jumped out of the car and rushed to Nicky.
"We are so sorry!"
"It's fine, I didn't know the door was gonna lock and, I think maybe I knocked something out of the way that made it closed."
Mya gave him a hug, as an apology and Aaron just breathed a sigh of relief.
But. . . Why was Trinity in their house to begin with.

Keith nods.
"I see. . . I had a run in with a Cultist at the station; Broke in and stole the notebook after killing a cop that was guarding the door."
Diana nods,"I'm sorry. . .", Keith nods, appreciating their concern for his team and himself.
"But this proves, the first time they came here; They were after that book, didn't find it and came to the station."
Keith looked up,"Your father's notebook, it was 50 steps ahead.", Mr Peterson frowned, he knew his dad thought ahead but-
"The book; It wasn't just about the cult, it dove into dark magic, rituals they'd do, chapters on Crowface with sketches and what stuck out to me? Pages filled with information about people that he suspected where Cultists, either they were in the cult in the past, Cultists we arrested in the theme park or people he suspected would become cult members."
Diana, Jay and Mr Peterson were stunned.
"He thought that far ahead? To the point of suspecting people years before??"
"I don't. . . Know."
Mr Peterson rubbed his neck,"I don't remember the book if I'm being honest, all I know is he kept a discovery in the basement and wanted to protect it. . . But it's, hard to remember that far back.", Keith nods, writing that down,"You mentioned you had a head injury in the past that could have caused memory loss. . . But I have a suggestion for this current situation.", Keith closed the notebook, checking that the kids were a bit distant from them.
"I don't think Nicky getting locked in the basement was an accident; It was to get him out of the way."
Keith cleared his throat,"Think about; Trinity is the main target, and from what I've gathered there aren't that many members left, I think a Cultist or Crowface was in the house, noticed they were there and needed them to be separated, get the job done easier you can say and so they lured Nicky in and slammed the door behind him."
The parents listened carefully, concern and fear but masking it to not worry the children.
"I best get back to the station; But I suggest keeping the kids together."

Delory laid in bed. . . Suffering.
Some days after the river. . . He caught something bad.
Molly left him some food on the table,"Try and eat something dear. . .", Delory nods, slowly sitting up as she left him to eat.
Never. . . Never again is he going near a river-
*Knock, Knock*
What the f-
Delory nearly spat out his soup seeing Finch on his balcony.

"TRINITY!"
Mr Murtaugh and Wilson rushed into the hall, seeing Ivan and Enzo trying to catch their breath.
"Kids?!"
"Trinity. . . Cultist. . . Catacombs. . .!"
Wilson jumped into action, grabbing a shovel and towards the Boiler room.
"Make sure the boys are safe and get them home!"
Mr Murtaugh nods,"Trinity will be okay; But we need to get you to safety.", Ivan and Enzo nod, understanding as Mr Murtaugh escorted them home.

Wilson ducked with Trinity behind the wall,"Trinity, we need to get you home. . .", "I know but. . . Look.", they peaked around the wall, seeing a Cultist catching their breath as a fellow member appeared in the dark.
"Keith. . . Pulled a gun. . . This had better be worth it."
"It will. . ."
Trinity watched in horror as they handed over the notebook.
. . .
"Keith is onto me. . . I know he is."
"None of this. . . Will ever be worth it, but you know what will happen if we step out of line and we can't even get Crowface to listen to orders, I thought it would have killed those two kids when it had the chance!"
"Something is up with that thing, and we're missing it. But it doesn't matter; We have the book, now let's see what Robert left behind. . ."
A Cult Member leaves, leaving two behind.
"The plans are moving quick. . . We did have to kill a cop to get in the evidence locker and potentially hit someone with a van-"
In that moment, Wilson locked eyes with one of them.
"Well, Well, Well; We have some intruders!"
Wilson held up his shovel, getting Trinity behind him.
"Stay behind me, kid."
