Missy's POV
I was just about to skip school when I hear some familiar voices.
"Okay, I'll be back Riles."
..That has to be Lucas. Maybe I can get him to skip school with me..
I follow Lucas to where he was going then I find out that he was going to use the bathroom so right before he goes inside I yell "Lukie!"
"Oh, erm, hey Missy."
"Why are you talking in that stupid southern accent?"
He gave me a disgusted look but I ignore it and say "Whatever, it probably isn't important. Anyway, you look pretty damn hot today. Oh who am I kidding, you look smoking every single day."
"Uh, thanks, I guess."
"Why are you acting so nervous around me Luke?"
"First of all, my name is Lucas. And second of all, I just needed to use the bathroom." Lucas said opening the bathroom door.
"Actually, I was wondering if you wanted to skip school with me." I said with a smirk. "You know, after you use the bathroom."
"Um, Missy, have you met me? I would never do such a thing." Lucas said stepping into the bathroom and closing the door.
I sigh and open the door.
"What the-"
"Well if you change your mind, Lukie, you know where I live." I said then gave him a wink.
"Uh, no I don't."
"Oh, then text me, babe." I said letting the door close.
I started to walk away when I here Lucas yell "I really hate that girl!"
"He wants me." I say to my self out loud and continued to strut down the hallway.
Riley's POV
I was in my own little world, reading my little heart out, when I hear the loud click sound that high heals make. And only 7th grader that wears a new pair of high heals every day is Missy Bradford.
"Oh, if it isn't little miss worthless." Missy said to me with her evil glare.
"Missy, if you're in the hallway because you're on your way to meet a few hot guys at Central Park, the exit doors are that way." I said pointing to door.
Almost everyone knows that Missy skips school, even the teachers. But she good at sneaking out unseen.
"I was going to skip school, but I wanted to talk to you." Missy said crossing her arms.
..This isn't going to be good..
I decide to go back to reading my book and try to go back to my happy place.
Lucas' POV
When I finish using the bathroom, I walk back to where Riley was waiting for me. But when I get close, I see Missy talking to Riley.
..This isn't going to be good..
I decided hide behind some lockers so neither of them see me.
"I told you not talk to Lucas. Is that such a hard thing to do?" Missy said.
Riley stayed silent.
"Answer me Matthews!" Missy said raising her voice.
Riley still stayed silent.
"That's it." Missy said and she snatched Riley's book. Then she started to rip it apart. Page by page. And all Riley could do was watch her as tears started rolling down her cheeks. The same cheeks that were blushing with embarrassment just a few moments ago when she was with me.
Riley's POV
I feel a few more tears rolled down my cheeks when I suddenly hear a familiar voice with a southern accent yell "Stop, Missy!"
Both Missy and I turn our heads to see Lucas sprinting towards us.
Once he got to us he crouched beside me and wiped away my tears with his thumb.
"Oh look Riley, your prince is here to save you." Missy said with sarcasm in her voice.
Lucas got up and looked Missy in the eye and said the exact question I asked Missy yesterday "What did Riley ever do to you?"
She just ignored the question and said "You should know better Lucas. You really shouldn't be hanging out with this worthless piece of-"
"Missy, hanging with this girl," Lucas said helping me up to my feet. "Has helped me be a better person. She has been with me through so many rough times. And Riley isn't worthless. She is an amazing girl that doesn't deserve to be treated the way you treat her."
"Whatever Lucas, sooner or later you'll hate Riley as much as I do." Missy said then she threw my book at me and walked away.
Once Missy was gone, Lucas turned to me and said "I'll never hate you. Not as long as I live." with a small smile. Then he bent down to pick up the mess Missy made so I helped him out. "Hey, what was the name of your book Missy ripped apart?" Lucas suddenly asked.
"Uh, Paper Towns by John Green, why?"
"I was planning to buy another copy for you."
"Oh, that's sweet Lucas, but you don't have to do that for me."
"No, I really want to replace it for you. It's my treat."
Lucas' POV
"Okay, fine. Thank you Lucas." she said and pulled me into a hug. We stayed in the position for who knows how long, but all I wanted to do was stay there with her forever. Suddenly, the bell rang and she pulled out of the hug.
..Aww man..
"Uh, we should.. you know.. go to class now." I said nervously.
"Erm.. sure.. lets go." Riley said back nervously.
..I still can't wait to spend my night with my little princess..
