Chapter 13

Wow. An author's note before a the chapter. That's a first.

ANywaYs, I am soooooooo sorry for not updating for 7832 years.

It was more like 3 weeks. Jus saying.

I was really busy in those 3 weeks and I couldn't push myself to write a new chapter so I owe you guys a longish chapter.

1286 words is considered long to me mkay.

Riley's POV

"Bye Maya!" I said hoping into dad's car.

"Long day, huh Riley." dad said putting his seat belt on.

"Yeah." I simply answered, remembering how Lucas stood up for me. "Uh, by the way dad," I said snapping my self out of my thoughts. " Thanks for embarrassing me during history today."

"No problem, sweetie." dad said with a smile.

I just rolled my eyes and got lost in my thoughts again.

.. I wonder what Missy would've said if Lucas wasn't there to save me. I know that it wouldn't be good. And I know that I'm not supposed to listen or care about what Missy thinks about me, but what if she's right? What if I'm actually a wasted soul like she says?..

I sigh and look out the window to see that we were already home.

"Dad, aren't we supposed to pick up Auggie?"

"No, your mom got off work early and picked up Auggie herself."

"Oh, okay."

Dad and I walk I silence until we stop so he can unlock the door. When he finally opened the door, I speak up and say "Just to let you know, dad, Lucas is coming over so we can work on the self harming presentation."

Dad stopped walking and processed the information. "WHAT?!" he finally yelled causing me to stumble back a little.

"Hey, you're the one who told the class that we couldn't work on the project at school."

"Why couldn't you two work on the presentation in the library?"

"That counts as school."

"I don't think that counts as school."

"I'm pretty sure-"

"Cory!" mom said causing us to turn our heads toward her. "Just let Riley."

"Hey, I wouldn't mind if her partner was a girl. But we're dealing with the Moral Compass!"

"What's wrong with the Moral Compass?"

"His name is Lucas!" say correcting my parents.

"Okay fine!" dad said raising his hands up in surrender. "I'll let Mor- Lucas work on the presentation with you."

"You would eventually let him because if you didn't, I would've failed the presentation." I said looking innocently at mom. "And then there would be a big fat F on my report card." 

Mom glared at dad and I smiled a little as I walked to the hallway.

"Oh and dad, we might have to pull an all nighter, okay? Bye!" I quickly say and rush towards my room.

"WHAT?!" I hear my dad say and I laugh to myself and walk inside my room. 

Once I'm inside I close the door, I suddenly hear Missy's words in my head:

"I want you to die. You don't deserve to live. Can you just jump off a cliff already?!"

"..I'm planning on asking him out.. because he's really cute.. don't you think?"
