||Chapter 6||Madison||

"MADISON!" It was my mom, screaming her head off.

"YES?" I got up immediately and made sure I didn't sound like I just woke up. I wasn't allowed to take naps because they messed up my sleeping pattern.

"What are you doing??" My mom appeared at my doorway with her hands on her hips. Sebastian was standing next to her.

"I..uh..I have plans with Vas and Kat later so I decided to..uh.. get myself ready?" I looked at them, grabbed my phone and tried my best to make it convincing.

My mother sighed, "Okay, I just thought you would want to spend the day with us. It would mean a lot to Sebastian and I. But if you already have plans, then, alright. You can go."

"Have fun!" Sebastian smiled as they left quietly.

I sat back down on my bed and reached for my phone. I sent an iMessage to the group.

The Zero Chill Squad

[Madisonfire: meet me at starbucks?]

It took a few seconds for them to reply.

[lil kittykat: sure, when?]

[Madisonfire: now?]

[vasilbasil: b there in 5]

[Madisonfire: k cya]

I stood up and straightened my shirt, grabbed my wallet and left the room.

The elevator doors opened and I made my way to the side of the street and hailed a cab.

"Where to?" The taxi smelled like smoke.

"Wait. Never mind. Sorry for the inconvenience." I quickly got out and mentally punched myself for hailing a cab when Starbucks was just around the corner.

The taxi driver drove away, probably annoyed. Whatever.

I arrived at Starbucks and pushed the heavy door. None of my friends were in sight so I went up to order.

"Hi, welcome to Starbucks. What would you like?"

"A Grande Vanilla Bean Frappuccino, please."

I grabbed my drink and found a seat. I felt someone tap my shoulder.

"Hey!" It was Vasilena, in her hand was a Grande Cotton Candy Frappuccino.

"Hey, sit." I pulled up a chair for her to sit.

She sat down and sipped her drink, "So, what's the matter?"

"You know how my mom's getting married to her boyfriend?"

Vas nodded, "Go on."

"Well, he has a daughter. And she's like the Devil's Spawn. I tried being nice to her, but no, she kept saying how she wanted to kill me. She's just...UGH! I hate her."

"Mad, I'm so sorry. And don't worry. I'll find a way to make her life miserable. You're a good person, you don't deserve to be treated like that. You deserve better." Vas patted my arm.

"Thanks, V."

"YO GUYS WHAT'S UP?" It was Katerina.

Vasilena told her everything so I didn't have to.

"Oh my God. She sounds terrible!" Kat stared at me.

"What are we gonna do? What can we do to help?" Vas said as she finished her drink.

"Well, I overheard my mom...and she wants me to 'get to know' Band Freak better. As in, she's going to be 'living' with us in a few days. I don't know, it's either that, or the other way around. Both sound like nightmares. I'm not entirely sure, though. I hope I heard wrong." I sighed and pulled my phone from my pocket.

"What is that?" Kat and Vas both leaned in to get a look at my phone.

"Oh, it's just the band that my stepfather-to-be manages. Have you heard of them?" I slid the phone over to them.

"It's that band! That 'Over The Glacier" band... I think...-"

"No, V, you've got it all wrong. They're actually called Next To The Iceberg." Kat corrected her.

"Oh my God. You guys are both wrong. For goodness sakes, they're called ACROSS THE AVALANCHE. Is it really that hard?" I hated to admit it, but my best friends were complete idiots.

They were both silent for a moment.

"They're really big." Vas was the first one to speak.

"What?" Kat and I stared at her.

"They're the world's biggest band-band. As in, BAND. Which means they write their own songs and play their own instruments. Not like The Only Target, where all they do is just sing and stuff like that. I mean I love The Only Target, but, they just sing. There's a difference."

"Okay. Well, are they any good?" Kat and I continued to stare, mainly because we had no idea what she was talking about. Well, we actually did know The Only Target, because they're the world's biggest boyband, but for the first half of it, we were lost.

"Well, I don't know, but you should listen to this song they wrote called 'Insomniac' it's amazing." Vas was obviously a closeted band freak. 

I rolled my eyes, "I'm good. So, no thanks. I'm not a Band Freak." 

Vas glared at me for a second but then smiled, "You know what? I have something to do right now. I have to go. Call me if you need help or anything. Bye!" and left.

Kat turned to me, "Um...?"

"I think I should go, my mom's probably waiting for me. See you later." I got up and left, leaving Kat sitting alone awkwardly.

As I got out of Starbucks, my phone started to buzz. It was my mom, I had to pick up.

"Hi Mom."

"Madison? Are you still with your friends?" She sounded surprisingly calm, as if this whole brunch fiasco didn't happen. 

"Uh, no. Vas just left, so it's just me and Kat. Wait, no, Kat is still inside. So never mind. I'm alone right now on the way home."

"Well, hon, Sebastian and I are waiting for you because we're going to his house. I've packed a bag for you. Jade's mom just called him saying that Jade will be meeting us there. So hurry up, we're leaving in a few."

Oh God. "Uh...yeah. Okay, sure. I'll be there in a sec." I hung up on her and headed back to the penthouse. This day just keeps getting worse and worse. Ugh.

Sorry for the really really really late update. I've been really busy, I hope that's okay. Well of course it's okay because no one ever reads this so haha. Nobody cares about how fast I update. Whatever.

oh... and as for the cast... just use your imagination bc yours is probably better than mine. lolz
