KAT
After our last match on Thursday, I am busy packing all the materials and preparing them for the return journey. The last event tomorrow is for the cheerleaders. All cheerleading teams will then receive full attention and show us their best choreographies in a mutual competition. In the evening, there will be an award ceremony for the competitions and a small farewell party. After that we will travel home overnight so that if all goes well, we will be back home around lunchtime on Saturday.
It was a very successful tournament for us in many ways. We won all our matches and some even with great force majeure. We were able to try out a number of new game variants and they were a great success. The team just grew in the tournament. I spotted several scouts in the stands and USF even asked Jason and me if we might be interested in a position at their university. We feel very flattered of course, but we still see so much potential with this team that we kindly thanked them for the offer and said that we are not available for now.
While I check and pack all the materials, my thoughts wander to last night.... Leah had another nightmare and cried in her sleep again. My heart ached when I heard her, I carefully took away the pillow that was still between us in bed and lay down against her. I grabbed her and stroked her hair while gently telling her that she was safe and that no one could hurt her. Fortunately, this calmed her down again and she continued to sleep peacefully. Only I had fallen asleep also to the rhythm of her breathing while I was still cuddling her.
I woke up before her this morning and I gently let her go and moved back to my part of the bed after which I placed the pillow between us again.
I quietly put on my workout clothes and went outside to run. To my surprise, a group of 5 boys were already stretching there to also go for a run. I quickly send a text to Leah.
- I went for a run, will get us coffee
on the way back, your humble servant
Kat -
To my surprise, I get a message back right away.
- I'm going to take a walk myself, the last
one back will get the coffee, deal? -
- Sounds good to me, have fun -
- Thanks, you too -
When we get back to the hotel, Leah isn't in our room, so I quickly text her before I get in the
shower.
- Guess coffee is on you today 😀 -
- I'm jumping into the shower and
I'm looking forward to the coffee😉 -
She responds immediately.
- You're just a few minutes ahead of me -
- Enjoy your shower, I'm going to get us coffee -
Didn't expect that I would enjoy waking up cuddling with someone so much, even though in this case I am the only one who knows about it...
