a wrong decision

The whole time, during class, Seungmin had tried to focus on the topic Minho was talking about, instead of staring at him and thinking back to how they had almost kissed.

For some reason, the thought excited him and he couldn't get it out of his head. After he had replayed that moment in his head for the thousandth time, he had come to the realization, that it had not been a misunderstanding and that Minho had had the same intentions to kiss him.

And instead of staying, after the call from Jisung had interrupted them, he had run away. Of course he knew that leaving had technically been the right decision, but every time he closed his eyes, he couldn't help but wonder what would have happened if he had stayed.

"I have to leave now." Lia said quickly, as soon as class ended. "I really don't have much time anymore." This time she muttered the sentence to herself and packed her stuff hastily.

Seungmin didn't even have the chance to say anything, before she had already left and he hesitantly looked at the door, as more and more students left the room.

Should he stay back and try talking to Minho? They were alone now anyway.

Hesitantly, he walked to the front of the room, where Minho was. He smiled at the brunette and Seungmin could feel his heart skip a beat. This was just a stupid crush, why was his body reacting like this?

Only now that he was standing in front of Minho, he realized that he didn't even know what to say. He didn't even have a reason to stand here.

"You have a question?" Minho asked softly, still smiling at Seungmin. For some reason the atmosphere between them wasn't awkward, like Seungmin had expected. However, it did feel a bit weird that they both seemed to avoid even thinking about how they had almost kissed.

"Not about today's class, but just one in general." Seungmin smiled, quickly thinking about something he could ask. "Do you maybe have a list with all topics that we need to know for the exam?"

On the inside, Seungmin praised himself for coming up with a useful question this quickly.

"Yeah, sure. I can send it to you right now." Minho pulled out his phone and searched for the list.

In the meantime, Seungmin couldn't help but ramble about his worries again. "I know we already talked about it, but the closer the exam day comes, the more nervous I get."

It were still a few weeks, but the time was passing so fast, that it felt like it were only a few more days. Minho nodded to show him that he was listening, despite being on his phone. A moment later, Seungmin received the message with the list from Minho.

"Thank you." He said, as he opened the message and looked at all the topics. "Why so many?" He whined, eyes widening.

"Sorry, I have to include all of these. But if you need help to study, you know you can always ask me." Minho offered and Seungmin nodded, when their eyes met.

They were standing in front of Minho's desk, pretty close and Seungmin couldn't help but imagine what would happen if he just leaned in now. He'd never dare to do that, though.

"I guess I'll take that offer soon. Lia is usually the one, who explains stuff to me, but she doesn't have much time lately." He nervously fiddled with his fingers, looking to the side because of how intense Minho's piercing stare suddenly was.

"I'm sure you won't even need my help, but as I said, you can always come to my office or text me." They both knew that the way he was saying this sounded like they were friends, rather than a professor and a student.
