As I promised:
I'm dropping my old artwork, back to back, 6 pieces, from the best to the worst, and I'm going to criticize them:Now before anyone comes at me: "oh you're acting like these are bad but you're just bragging because ain't no way this is bad"
No. I genuinely don't like these ones and I don't find them professional, however these are phenomenal compared to my skills back then.. and maybe phenomenal to many people who don't really practice drawing as much, that's why y'all might see this as not bad at all, but it's full of mistakes, I'm going to point out the highlight mistakes.
I'm not sharing drafts, but rather real "considered as finished" pieces.
Dropping these pieces will be in my study breaks, one at a time.. stay tuned my loves! <3
Before we go, here's a disclaimer:
Disclaimer:
You need my clear permission to reuse any of my art anywhere.. if you don't get it, it's a theft and I'm going to report and call you out on all my platforms.. I'm going to bring friends to mass report you..
Thank you for understanding to what extent I put effort into my art.Let's go:
Up first, we have this piece of a BTS member cuz I found the picture cute (I don't stan nor listen to their music)
Here is why I don't like this:
• grainy skin cuz I used Vaseline to blend colors cuz I had no idea about layering colors
• the hair is not professional and not well-blended.. it doesn't look realistic, but rather animated cartoony (if that's a word)
• the dog's fur is very sharp. It doesn't look smooth, so it's unrealistic.
• there's a problem with the shoulder posture, however I like the texture of the sweater he's wearing. I think I ate with it.
• I could've done so much better with the shadows. Shadows are meant to add depth to your art, if they ain't right, the whole work will look flat and 2D.. it doesn't look realistic.
However, this piece is the third most recent of my old artwork.. this was 2.5 years ago..
The improvement could've happened much faster, but I barely draw cuz I have no time TwT
Do you guys see the mistakes? The more you see mistakes, it's a sign that you have improved..
Pro tip: NEVER USE VASELINE TO BLEND COLOURS.. it leaves chunks of grain when it dries out.. they don't really appear clearly in this artwork, but you'll definitely see more grain with the next one as we're moving from the best to the worst to me.
Hope you enjoyed it and got inspired! ☺️
A little reminder for you: if you're really interested in drawing, there's always room for improvement. I learned through YouTube and my experience. And only that.
Don't excuse yourself by saying "I don't have talent" I didn't either. I started 3 years ago and I made loads of mistakes, matter of fact I thought I ate when I started. But I clearly didn't when I look back now..
Sorry that was long.. Bye! ❤️🥰 Please support me if you like my content❤️
