It's nearing Christmas break and it's finals week, and a certain college student can't wait for it to start. It was a cold morning in the streets of Seoul and Minjeong, an arts major was studying for an upcoming exam, her only teammates in studying were the coffee and pie she ordered a few moments ago.
Albeit rigorously studying today and the night before. Her mind was restless, it hindered her from studying to her full potential. And as she was taking a sip of her coffee, the reason for her restlessness entered the cafe.
It was Y/n, the boy she had a crush on ever since high school. She had the privilege to have him in the same university she enrolled in. Or maybe it's a curse that her high school heart never took a rest from loving. While Y/n would consider Minjeong as his friend, Minjeong wanted more but never really expressed it.
"Hey, Minjeong! What are you studying?" A voice said, it was Y/n's as he sat down the chair across from her. The two made eye contact as Minjeong started to blush. As if the history of romanticism and art were gone from her mind in an instant.
"Uh- uhm... It's for one of my majors. I have an exam later." Minjeong said as Y/n chuckled.
"Oh, you have a test too? I also have one later! Well, I don't like the subject but I feel like I can at least get the passing grade later. Anyways, I may be disturbing you. I'll go now." Y/n said as he took off. Minjeong wanted to stop him from straying away but her shyness, like the first hundred times, got the best of her.
~last day of finals~
"Hey! Minjeong, get this." Karina, her best friend said as she gave Minjeong a pack of cookies.
"Hm? What's this for?" Minjeong asked as Karina sighed in defeat.
"Well, you can do two things with it. Eat it, or give it to Y/n! You guys won't be seeing each other for the holidays." Karina winked as Minjeong blushed.
"I- He won't- He probably doesn't like me anyways." Minjeong said as Karina pouted.
'Well, you'll never know!" Karina said as she dragged Minjeong to the building where Y/n's last exams were. And quite immediately, the duo spotted the boy.
"Go get him!" Karina said as she pushed Minjeong, with her hiding in the bush as Minjeong tried her best to walk to Y/n.
Minjeong walked slowly, being an introvert was always a challenge especially with the extraverted Y/n. As she walked slowly, that's when it clicked her, it was always like this. When they were in high school, there's a feeling of deja vu that engulfed her. And she continued her trek, it hit her.
Suddenly, a woman from their batch walked up to Y/n and gave him a gift. It was like high school all over again. Y/n, quite frankly, had broken Minjeong's heart again. Y/n and the woman had a short talk but the woman eventually left. Y/n looked around and saw Minjeong as he waved at her.
Minjeong smiled, knowing that Y/n may just be too social, but knowing that, it also hurts her, yet in a good way. She hopes that maybe someone will love her the way she loves Y/n, but that someone, she hopes would be Y/n himself.
She chuckled to herself, "As always, I'll let you break my heart again." She whispered as she walked to Y/n and gave him the cookies.
