As the alarm clock rang, the dogs barked, and the TV relayed the news, it all combined to make the usual noise that woke people up to get them started on their day. But today is different. In the Seo household, a cough of a certain boy echoed to the walls, piercing through his bedroom walls. The matriarch of the family, Seohyun, rushed to her only offspring.
She barged through the door, surprising her son in the process. Her son was limp on the bed, red forehead and cheeks were very much noticeable.
"Y/n! You're sick..." Seohyun said as She sat down beside the almost dead Y/n.
Y/n tried to raise his body, yet both Seohyun and his own will were against it, keeping him in place, "Mom, I- I think I'm sick."
Seohyun chuckled, "Well, I didn't notice that, my little Sherlock. Anyways, you should call in sick for today. I'll prepare you food and medications. Sit tight, okay?" Seohyun said as she left her son alone, Y/n stared at the ceiling, coughing in an irregular rhythm as he tried to unclog both his nose and throat.
Soon enough, his mother went back, ready with breakfast in bed, with his medications on the side. Seohyun then again sat beside Y/n and helped her son sit down. She grabbed a spoonful of food and said, "Say 'Ahh'."
Y/n's eyes widened and and his eyebrows contorted, seemingly grumpy from what his mom said. "Mom! I'm twenty-one! Stop treating me like I'm a six year old..." He complained as Seohyun chuckled.

"As long as you live under my roof, you'll always be my little kid. Besides, it's not like your friends are watching. Y'know, your father also often got sick back then. He didn't complain when I took care of him." Seohyun countered as Y/n sighed in defeat.
"It's because you guys were a couple back then! He was probably a blushing mess because of you. You're my mother... And isn't it weird for you to say that considering you guys named me after dad?" Y/n said as Seohyun pouted.
"Hmmm... You really don't want me to take care of you? Well, maybe you're just like your dad. Maybe I should call your girlfriend. We'll see how you handle it." Seohyun said as Y/n blushed, albeit already hidden from his already reddened face.
"Don't call Sully, mom. She doesn't need to know. She doesn't need to burden herself with me while I'm sick." Y/n said as Seohyun stood up and let Y/n eat by himself.
"Yeah, yeah. But knowing Sullyoon, she's probably gonna visit anyway. But fine, I'll leave you alone. You should rest up, okay? I'm gonna go out later to buy more meds because we're almost out of them. Okay, Y/n?" Seohyun said as she kissed him on the forehead as Y/n weakly nodded.
Seohyun closed the door and left Y/n alone. The boy continued to eat, his body feeling like it was collapsing at any moment but he struggled his way through, slightly regretting that maybe he pushed his mom away a bit too hard.
