Sebastian POV

She's perfection.

The dazzling night sky of the Room's enchanted ceiling was nothing compared to the woman in my arms.

Juliette Fontaine's sleepy head rested on my chest, her cheeks still flushed and brown hair tousled from our love-making not an hour prior.

She was mine, again. All mine.

Though, according to her, there was never a moment in which she wasn't mine. I had simply jumped to the conclusion that she was done with me.

The moment she leapt into my arms in my office, my world filled with color again. The air I had been gasping for all week finally filled my lungs as I breathed her in. Suddenly, the thought of drowning my sorrows in liquor on the anniversary of my sister's death seemed outlandish and repulsive.

I drowned in Juliette's soft touches and the scent of lilacs, instead.

It had taken a couple of weeks to find intimacy again following the Pensieve incident, at least physically. Juliette had seemed hesitant to initiate any sort of entanglement, but not for the reasons I had suspected. She was worried it would be different now that I had 'seen her at her worst.' She had even offered to cover her scar, lest I be reminded of the torture she endured.

I assured her over and over that I did not see her any differently and that I was not repulsed in any way by her scar. If anything, I may have been more attracted to her knowing just how strong she was, inside and out.

I could only hope that this rekindling signaled some degree of forgiveness on her part, because I was not sure I had forgiven myself. I had stolen her freedom to tell me her story on her own terms, and she had every right to kick me to the curb. She insisted she wasn't going anywhere, but I would still spend the rest of my life making it up to her.

I brushed a few errant pieces of hair from Juliette's face. She was already fast asleep, with a potion for her nightmares and two silver rings to keep her magic at-bay. I dragged my fingers across the soft, tanned skin of the arm she draped over my chest. She held me tightly, even as she slept, terrified I would leave the bed again if I managed to slip from her grasp.

That was a mistake I dared not repeat.

That was how we spent most nights since our weekend at my family home. We initially restricted spending the night to the weekends, out of respect for the fact that we were in a school. Eventually, we caved. We had a hard enough time sleeping alone, and an even harder time keeping our hands off each other if when our alone-time was restricted to my office hours.
