Hinata was never known to fake sickness before, but a very important test was coming up, and he wasn't ready for it at all. He couldn't handle the nerves building up to this test as it was going to about 50% of his grade.

So Hinata devised a plan to fake an illness to fool everyone.

Hinata planned this since the night before, putting multiple blankets over his body to overheat himself throughout the night to hopefully develop a "fever."

When that didn't work, he took a freezing cold shower in the morning before turning it straight to hot, which can cause an imbalance in body temperature.

Hinata used the thermometer and smirked at the small temperature he had managed to give himself. Phase one of the plan had been set into motion. Phase two was to put eye drops in his eyes and sniff flour to make his nose stuffy.

Hinata went downstairs, sniffling softly while rubbing his teary eyes.

" Mom? "

Hinata faked a raspy voice as he coughed slightly, showing her the thermometer.

" I-I think I'm sick, mom. "

He rasped, looking at her with sad eyes. She frowned, feeling his forehead, sighing softly.

" You do feel a little warm. Are you sure you can't push through? You have a test today. "

Hinata sniffed harshly, the flour going into his throat a little, which worked in his favour as it caused him to fall into a coughing fit, covering his mouth to hide the flour that he coughed up.

" Okay, maybe not.. you'll be home alone since I have work. "

She said softly as she turned on the kettle.

" I'll make you some tea before I leave. Just go rest in your room for now. "

She said sweetly, to which Hinata nodded his head, trudging upstairs before smirking softly. He quickly took off the extra blankets from his bed and hid them under the bed along with the flour he used to stuff up his nose.

He snuggled under his main blanket and rubbed his eyes. His mother came up 5 minutes later with a smile. She placed the cup of tea down on his bedside table along with some cold medicine.

" Alright, I'll see you this afternoon, sweetie. "

She said softly, kissing Hinata's forehead before leaving. Once Hinata heard the door shut, he couldn't help but giggle softly as he grabbed out his phone and tapped on Kenma's contact, or so he thought.

' I faked sick to get out of doing a test, I can't believe my mother believed it! '

Hinata sat up in his bed and turned on his console, pulling up minecraft to start playing as he placed his phone away, turning off the notifications.

What Hinata didn't realise is that he had texted the entire Karasuno team group chat, and now everyone knew that he was faking being sick, not only to get out of the test, but he would also be missing practice.

Later that day, Hinata was still playing minecraft. He was so invested that he hadn't heard the front door open. His mother had come home early to check on Hinata's well-being.

She entered the room, noticing the tea and medicine still on the bedside table, and Hinata was sitting up yelling at his screen, playing video games.
