She still had to paint over it of course.
She went inside to go grab the paint and came back to find a fresh spray-painted message still dripping that read "PAINT OVER IT AND DIE"
She then had a realization.
Whoever did this was watching her.
Still watching her because they saw that go down.
"Who are you? Just leave us alone! Or at least reveal yourself!" she screamed at the sky.
She went back inside to find her mother gone.
Afraid that something happened to her she checked every room to find her mother asleep in her room.
Relief washed over her like a wave.
She grabbed some if her own spray paint from the basement and left her own message.
"LEAVE ME ALONE OR IM CALLING 911"
She thought that would do for now.
What a fool she is.
