the next morning i woke up in taylor's embrace in the couch. we must've fallen asleep on the couch last night. it must've been pretty early as the sun was now just coming up. i decided to slip out onto the front porch to watch the sunrise. a couple minutes later i heard the door open and shut and taylor sit down next to me.

"did i wake you?" i asked

"no you didn't. i just woke up randomly. probably because i wasn't comfortable on the couch" she said pulling her knees to her chest.

"yeah same with me." i said turning to look back out at the sunrise. there was a slight breeze and the air just felt crisp. everything felt so calm.

"anything in particular you want to do today?" taylor asked.

"i was thinking of just relaxing today, if that's fine with you?" i said.

"sounds like a great plan to me" taylor said. we then sat in a comfortable silence for the next 20 minutes or so. after we watched the sunrise we decided that we wanted to go get breakfast.

as we were talking and eating taylor got a text from someone. she immediately began blushing.

"who is it?" i asked.

"none of your business" she said with a big smile.

"it's travis." i said.

"no it's not" she said with a smile.

"it is. you're blushing" i said.

"shut up! i am not" she said giggling.

"sureee" i said. "what's he talking about?" i asked.

"he's in california. he's wondering if he could come over to see me" she said.

"go for it." i said.

"are you sure? i promised i would relax with you today. trav and i can always hang out another time" she said.

"no...really i don't mind. i'm with you 24/7, he lives in a whole different state. go for it. i don't mind" i said.

"you're the best d. i promise i'll make it up to you" she said.

"it's not a big deal and you don't have to make it up to me. you being happy is enough" i said. she returned a smile. i was with taylor after her breakup with joe. she was in an awful place so it's very relieving to see her happy.

travis then facetimed taylor so taylor moved into a different room. i pulled out my phone and a notification popped up across the screen. it was from my photos app and it was a 3 years ago today memory. there in the picture was my mom, dad, brother, me, and star.

i looked over at star who was asleep on the couch and then back to my phone. i really did miss them. i would do anything in my power to see them again. all of us together. then another notification popped up on my phone and it was a text from gracie.
