Confrontation

Tails and Sonic are at Tails's lab freeing Belle who is back operational.

Belle: Sweet Sawdust, I'm sorryy. . . 

Sonic: Eh, No worries. It happens.

Tails drops the metal beam and turns to sonic.

Tails: Are you sure your leg's okay?

Sonic: Yeah, yeah. . . It's better. You know I heal quick. Just not quick enough this time.

Tails: We're going to follow them, right?

Sonic: Oh yeah. She doesn't get to run off with Whisper's friends like that. Still I think we should Jewel and Amy know about "Infinite".

Belle notices Whisper in a corner with her broken wispon. She moseys over to the shy wolf.

Belle: Hey. . . I'm Belle. Nice to meet you. I know your friend Tangle. She told me a lot about you. Y'know, if you need some help with your wispon, I'm pretty good at fixing things, would you let me take a look?

Whisper wordlessly gives the remains of her weapon.

Belle: Thank you.

Sonic: We're gonna get your wisps back, promise.

Tails: Yeah.

Whisper nods as Tails computer goes off and the blue-orange duo come over and are met with Amy and Jewel.

Jewel: We got you message Tails.

Amy: I can't believe Infinite is back. You and the Rookie barely beat him last time. With Surge. . .

Tails: It still doesn't make sense to me. Why would Infinite team up with Surge? 

Sonic thought hard for a moment.

Sonic: . . . . What if it wasn't?

Everyone turns to him confused.

Sonic: It felt like him. Right down to the design. But it wasn't. Last time we fought Infinite, he relied almost solely on the phantom Ruby. This Infinite was more Melee- focused. Plus he mentioned a "He" as if referring to the Infinite from before as another person entirely.

Tails: But if it isn't the same person. . . who is he?

Sonic sighs.

Sonic: I don't know, we'll have to take him down to find out.

Meanwhile at Eggperial City, Eggman is doing repairs on Metal Sonic from his battle with Kit and Sonic. Orbot and Cubot float over to their maker.

Orbot: I've taken inventory like you asked boss. The new conch prototype was smashed, the E-200 schematics were destroyed. Half the spare Eggmobile drives are fried and she stepped on Cubot's Mint condition Cyber Singer Mika Ten-inch figurine.

Cubot looks in despair as his beloved item has a scuff on her cheek.

Eggman: But how? How did she do it?

Orbot: . . . With her foot?

Eggman: The way she used the Dynamo! She tossed my entire design on its head! And whateve tech the platypus stuffed in her is clearly having a radical effect. *groans* Then there is Infinite's brother.

Cubot: Why did you keep him there boss? I thought you gave up on the Ruby?

Eggman: I have not given up on it. I've kept it to the side, almost all the phantom Ruby prototypes have been destroyed except for the one Infinite had. With the Ruby, that jackal has potential to be a massive threat, especially after I ended up getting his brother killed. *stands up* That's it! I must know! My plans can wait; if this pays off, it could change everything!
