Tanjiro was carving a path of demon blood through to the center of the city. He had had multiple demons attempt to blindesidedly attack him, jumping out of bushes, from behind walls, or through windows. Every single one of them were decapitated without hesitation. It was reaching the point that demons even attempted to run in fear of him. It didn't matter. Run, attack, he had one goal. The tall tower in the center of the city. That was where his sense of smell was telling him Muzan was. And if any demons got in his way, they would be dealt with.
His mark was prominently showing. He had made peace with his early grave long ago. Right now, the mark served as the ultimate means to an end. He would kill Muzan. There was nothing that would stop him from doing so. With his blade, bright burning red instead of its deep black hue, dripping with the blood of demons, he was walking through the streets listening to everything going on over his phone.
"Guys, I just heard Muzan. He knows where Midoriya is and is sending a pair of New Upper Moons to him!" Zenitsu said over the phone.
"What?! But we don't even know where he is! How does he know?" Uzui replied.
"Did no one else feel that random surge of power a couple of seconds ago?" Muichiro asked.
"Is that what that was? I thought it was a random heatwave," Genya said.
"Who is he sending?" Shinobu asked.
"Upper Five and Upper Three. Does anyone have a visual on either one?" Zenitsu asked.
"I'm focused on only one demon. If he goes, then there's no reason to worry," Tanjiro growled.
"I see Upper Five. It's Himiko Toga," Kanao said.
"You can do it, Kanao. Take her and whoever Upper Three is down."
Kanao was fighting in another area of the city. Very far away from Tanjiro. A few blocks away, Toga, the new Upper Five, was fighting multiple heroes, and the heroes were losing. Kanao was hesitant to attack her. Not because she was an Upper Moon, but because she noticed a certain melancholy about her. Something about her was sad.
She began running toward her as she stabbed a hero through the chest with her claws. Out of a red rimmed portal ran another demon. On its eyes were written the words Upper Three. This demon was the villain formerly known as Twice.
"Toga, we have new orders. He knows where Midoriya is," Twice said.
"Izuku? He knows where he is?" Toga said. Her voice was slightly muffled, as she appeared to be wearing her blood siphoning mask.
"Yes. Moon Zero is sending us straight to him. We have to bring him back here."
"Well, then... send us."
A red rimmed portal opened high in the sky over an empty highway. Twice jumped through first. Toga stepped toward it.
"Himiko Toga!" Kanao shouted, running towards her.
Toga's head rose from looking at the ground through the portal. She turned around, her eyes widening seeing Kanao running toward her.
"I want to know something! Why do you look so sad?!" Kanao asked.
"Sad? You think I look sad? You couldn't be farther from the truth," Toga said.
She began to drop through the portal. Reacting quickly, Kanao sheathed her sword. In an instant, she remembered something from when they had begun their time in this time. Aizawa had said that they had been given items to enhance their mobility. On her right wrist was an item that had been completely unused by herself or any of the Demon Slayers. A little harpoon with a spool of silver thread. She pointed her right hand at the portal as Toga's feet fell through last. She slammed her hand into a little red button on the device. The little harpoon shot into the portal and embedded itself into the asphalt. It then rocketed her forward as the portal was closing. She barely made it through. She rolled to a stop, the harpoon loosening, and unsheathed her sword.
