Naruto blinked groggily as his vision slowly adjusted to the dim light flickering from a nearby lantern. His head felt heavy, his body sluggish, and an aching pain throbbed deep in his side. He exhaled sharply, wincing as he shifted slightly against the stiff mattress beneath him. His eyes roamed the unfamiliar wooden ceiling above, confusion clouding his thoughts.

Where was he?

His last memory came rushing back...the cold...the climb. Then, darkness...

"Nami-nee-chan!" Naruto gasped, suddenly bolting upright. A sharp stab of pain flared through his side, making him hiss as he instinctively clutched at his bandaged ribs. His breath came in uneven pants as he glanced around in a panic. The room was small, cluttered with weapons of various kinds—katanas, spears, and even a few suits of armor lined the walls. The faint scent of metal and old parchment lingered in the air.

Where is everyone?

He swung his legs over the side of the cot, his muscles protesting the movement, but he forced himself up. His vision swam for a moment, but he gritted his teeth.

"What do you think you're doing, brat? You can barely stand," Kurama growled.

Naruto exhaled through his nose, steadying himself against a wooden post. "Do you know where we are, Kurama?" he asked.

"No... but stay alert. We might be in enemy territory," Kurama warned.

Naruto took a shaky step forward, then another, each movement sending jolts of pain through his battered body. His fingers brushed against the rough wooden doorframe as he steadied himself.

"Nnngh..." Naruto gritted his teeth, gripping his bandaged side. "Right..." he muttered under his breath. No matter what, he had to keep moving.

Chopper carefully pushed open the door. His small hooves barely made a sound against the old wooden floorboards as he stepped inside. "I wonder if that boy will wake up soon," he murmured to himself, shifting the small bundle of medical supplies he carried in his arms. But the moment his eyes landed on the empty cot, Chopper's eyes widened in pure shock.

"Waaaaahhh! Where did he go?!" Chopper shrieked as he dropped the bandages and medicine he had been holding. The bottles clattered against the floor, rolling in different directions, but Chopper hardly noticed. Then he turned around and ran out the door and down the hallway.

"Doctorine! Sakura-chan! He's gone!" Chopper yelled at the top of his lungs.

Just ahead, Kureha and Sakura turned around, startled by his loud cries.

The older woman arched an eyebrow, her usual amused smirk tugging at her lips. "What are you yelling about now, Chopper?" she asked.

Chopper was practically bouncing on his hooves. "T-T-That boy! He must've woken up—he's gone now!" he exclaimed. "I-I swear he was still asleep a couple of hours ago when I checked on him last!"
