╚═══*.·:·.☽✧ ✦ ✧☾.·:·.*═══╝I think it was safe to say that I missed Zeke a ton at this point, and I believed I was ready to hear the full story of what had happened that day, how my poor excuse of a mother had lost her life.
It was the only way I was going to fully trust my boyfriend again, and I just hoped he would tell me the truth entirely.
So I'd invited Zeke over for dinner, and had been sweating in the kitchen due to both the heat and my nerves; Hex was watching me from the floor like I'd gone completely crazy. It was March 11th now, we had a week until we all flew out for Marco and Niyah's wedding, and I wanted to put this behind us now- I didn't want this trip to be overshadowed by tension between Zeke and I.
I was ready for closure, and I just hoped that my boyfriend could give it to me.
When my door knocked a little after six I almost threw up, nausea coursing through my veins as I moved towards it and pulled the door open; Zeke was standing there in a fuzzy dark green sweater, black cargo trousers and chunky white sneakers, his hands in his pockets as he rocked back and forth on his heels a little.
He looked slightly on edge, but some of that tension disappeared when he looked at me and smiled- nothing made me happier than seeing him smile.
"Hey", I opened the door further, allowing him to come in and take off his shoes, "you okay?". The last time I'd seen Zeke was almost a week ago, after his first therapy session, and from what I knew he was in two minds about returning for his second.
"I'm okay", he smiled, closing the door behind him, "are you?".
"I'm good", I assured him, leading the way into the kitchen, "I've missed you". His face softened as he lowered himself into a chair at the table, Hex jumping into his lap straight away and curling up- it was like I wasn't even in the room anymore.
"I've missed you too", he told me, green eyes meeting mine, "this week's been a lot, I'm sorry". The last thing I wanted was for him to apologise for what he had going on.
"You don't need to apologise", I shook my head, grabbing two plates from the cabinet, "I made lasagna, is that okay?".
"Perfect", he smiled, stroking Lex's fur slowly, "do you need any help?".
"That's okay", I declined, "how was your day?". I began serving our food whilst glancing over at Zeke every now and then; I wasn't sure how this conversation was going to go between us, but I'd save it until after dinner I supposed. I brought our plates over as my boyfriend went through the motions of putting his earplugs in, Hex jumping down onto the floor.
"Pretty boring, just spent time with the kids", he answered my previous question with a small smile which vanished almost instantly, "my brothers are pissed at me- well, apart from Marco". I couldn't imagine Milo mad at anyone, let alone Zeke, so I was curious as to what may have happened there.
"Can I ask why?". I treaded lightly, watching him get up to wash his hands before returning, picking up his fork but making no move to eat.
