After kicking Axel, I was prepared for the aftermath. I had the explanation ready, but Taylor didn't give me a chance to do that.
After glancing between me and his brother, he burst out laughing. It was a rare sight to witness because I always saw him behaving like a silent vampire, cooped up in his office with his head buried under tons of papers.
I looked at Axel, and he was now on his feet, clutching his waist. He narrowed his eyes at Taylor, who started laughing more after watching his brother's expression.
"Are you kidding me, Taylor?" Axel grumbled.
"Are you complaining to your brother?" I taunted him.
The cranky giraffe turned red with fury. "You are dead, Small Bean," he threatened.
Taylor put a hand on his brother's shoulder. "No need to act tough, Axel. You also know you deserved that kick. What else do you expect after acting like a douche?"
Axel swatted Taylor's hand away. "Why do you always take her side? You aren't going to do anything? She kicked me!"
Taylor rolled his eyes and smiled at me. "I was unnecessarily worried for you, Bhoomi. I don't think there is any need to transfer your room. Feel free to kick some sense in my brother. I am going to tell Sarthak about what happened. He will love it."
"Taylor!" Axel whined.
His brother shot him a mischievous smile and left.
"I had already warned you, Mr. Furn," I said.
Axel straightened himself. "You will pay the price for what you did."
I shrugged my shoulders. "I hope you don't end up paying the interest."
When I saw his skin color turn dark red, I stuck out my tongue at him and ran off. I enjoyed that a lot. I was so happy that I did a cartwheel in the hallway.
When I reached my class, my friends were curious, and when I told them about what I had done, their souls left their bodies.
"You kicked Axel?!" Claire asked, her eyebrows touching the sky.
I nodded proudly. "And I will do it again if he dares to mess with me. Taylor gave me his permission, so make sure your crush doesn't come under my radar."
Faith laughed when Claire pouted. I knew she liked Axel a lot, but I wasn't going to forgive him every time. I had decided that if he tried to even taunt me, I would not spare him.
I was in a good mood, so I prepared a lot of dishes for lunch. I was enjoying my meal when Matt and Hanz arrived in the dining room, conversing among themselves.
"He is behaving like he is possessed," Matt said.
"I don't know," Hanz replied blankly. "I am actually relieved that he is not in the depressive state. Maybe something finally managed to distract him."
"I also feel the same, but he had a different kind of glint in his eyes. And what's wrong with his back? I don't remember Axel having a hump."
I choked on my food as the recent memory flashed in front of my eyes. Both guys looked at me, and Matt ran to give me water.
"Thank you, Matt," I said after calming down.
"You should eat slowly, Bhoomi," he adviced and gazed over my lunch. "Are you planning on eating all of this yourself?!"
"Yup, but if you want, you may join me."
Hanz refused, but Matt was drooling. After a lot of contemplation, Matt sat across from me and started eating. Hanz followed, and I was glad that they liked my cooking.
