The past few days for N were stressful, his usual happy mask was slipping, and Uzi was starting to catch on that he was hiding something.

The way he would fidget and shoot nervous glances at his purple girlfriend was starting to get on her nerves, he was acting like a puppy who was hiding her special shoes he just chewed up.

But she knew demanding him for the answer wouldn't go well. After years of torture by J's high standards, she would have to approach him more gently.

N took notice of this and was grateful, but it made his guilt twist into a tighter knot. On multiple occasions, he wanted to spill everything. To get this horrible secret off his chest. Though every time he was close too, he would imagine the look of betrayal and disgust on Uzi's face. So he would swallow back the words and act like nothing was wrong.

After weeks of this, things started to reach it's boiling point. N could barely hang out with Uzi without acting like the end of the world was at hand.

And N could tell it was really affecting Uzi, even if she didn't want to show it.

It felt like his own tail was stabbing him in his core every time he saw the hurt look on her face when he flinches away from her touch, like the problem had to be her.

Please, no, Uzi, don't do that! His mind would scream. He knew more then anyone how awful it was to twist the blame onto yourself. He had been doing that to himself for a long time to the point it was just second nature to him, that all the horrible things that happened was his fault.

N felt like he was stuck. His twisted guilt begging him to just tell Uzi the truth, but his fear warned him about the consequences.

It all made him want to blow his own head off with a missal and float in bliss darkness, even for just a minute.

But he knew that wouldn't fix anything, he would still wake up to the same problem.

Just adding more to his misery, with all this stress he barely slept. Hanging upside down on a pole-in Uzi's room-N unfurled his wings and bit back a tired groan, not wanting to wake up Uzi.

N checked his internal clock and it read 6:50 p.m. Just like any other night he barely got a wink of sleep, the disassembly drone let out a quiet, exhausted sigh, and let his tired optics roam lazily around the room, until they landed of his sleeping girlfriend.

As usual, Uzi was sprawled out like a star-if it was drawn by a six year old- and her hair was ruffled from sleep with her bangs slightly covering the "sleep mode" displayed on her visor.

N was glad that Uzi was able to sleep, even from all the stress these past weeks. He wanted to crawl over and wrap his arms around her, keeping her close.

They've only ever cuddled a few times, but they haven't actually slept together, neither quite ready for that next step.

And you might never will. There goes his dark thoughts again. No! We will, we just need to get past this big hertal.

Then frustration bubbled up in his chest. If only I was able to keep secrets better, why was it so hard to not just crumble it up and act like it was nothing?

Because it was a secret that was able to tear N and Uzi's relationship apart.

Poor N felt like he was suffocating, his chest caving in on his lungs. He needed to stretch his wings, or even his whole body. But this room was too small for that. He had to go outside, its been a bit, so the thought of the cold snow hitting his metal and the wind piercing through his blade, shaped wings was enticing.
