~• wedding at the end of the world •~
"convince him for me hm?"
~•~
klaus continued to go on table to table to try and convince the others to give their father a chance but to no avail, none of them had any interest on giving the old man a chance, that's when the old man himself stepped out of the elevator.
the room went silent as he continued to make his way towards the buffet area to get something to eat while viktor sat down next to the two teenage looking adults, y/n heard the others whisper amongst themselves as reginald was finding a table for him to sit.
"he better not sit here.. i swear to god he better not sit here" diego prayed.
"what is he doing here..?" ben turned to allison but all y/n could think about was.. dad, she didn't know it but maybe she was just as fucked up as luther with her daddy issues since she spent the most time with the old guy "who invited him?" ben added.
"just suffer with us" allison breathed out.
"im not even invited to a stupid bachelor party and he's invited to this wedding?"y/n then turned to luther to see his reaction and he had the same dreaded look on his face whilst sloane comforted him "you okay?" five's voice startled the girl before he took a bite of some fruit on his plate.
"yeah im fine.." she responded quietly before giving the boy a reassuring smile before watching her father take seat alone at one table before noticing that she was looking at him, he gave a sweet greeting smile, odd, she just smiled back.. she felt bad.
"you're introducing me-" lila suddenly spoke out loud while diego protested "-now" she demanded before practically dragging the man towards his father.
"don't tell me you want to be introduced as well.. you grew up seeing him as a dad" five handed the girl another shot glass to drink.
"oh please why would i need to be introduced? im not a lover of some sort" y/n murmured before chugging the liquid, hissing at it's bitterness but five just watched her silently before a sound of a knife tapping one of the wine glasses started to ring their ears.
reginald was about to make a speech "I know it is customary for the father of the bride to make a speech" the old man started "sloane.." he turned to the bride "ever since you were a little girl, i've always known you were exceptionally bright" he then turned to luther "although i can't say i know luther all that well, from the few moments we shared, it seems you found yourself an adequate partner"
five almost laughed "he just called luther adequate" the suited man spoke before taking a sip of one of his many beverages.
"all my life, that's the nicest thing dad has said to luther.. for what i've heard at least" y/n's eyes were slightly widened by surprise.
"i acknowledge that as a father, i was not without my faults" reginald continued to confess "i hope these shortcomings will be seen as only a rough patch on an otherwise verdant lawn.. im proud to call you my children" they all stared at him, those words sinking into their skins and souls "even those who i raised in a revenant version of myself.. i hope that tonight we can create a few special memories in whatever precious little time we have left.. and now in closing, i would like to share a small poem i've learned long ago..
the sun rises over a lily's field, a mother veiled, her lips concealed.
the mourners come in droves of black to bury with their hearts unpack.
with shallow breaths and time eclipsed,
i pray you miss death's gentle kiss."
