Osamu couldn't take it anymore. His eyes kept darting back over to Yuki and the guy, who were still by the claw machine, exchanging some casual words. The way Yuki smiled, how comfortable she seemed, and the way the guy was standing a little too close—it was enough to make Osamu's mind race.
He cleared his throat, then pulled out his phone as an excuse to glance away.
Atsumu, noticing his twin's sudden urgency, raised a brow but didn't comment. Instead, he casually leaned back and folded his arms, watching the drama unfold. He was enjoying this a little too much.
Osamu took a deep breath and called out, his voice low but firm. "Yuki!"
Yuki, who had been laughing at something the guy had said, turned her head at the sound of her name. When her eyes landed on Osamu, she blinked in surprise, then smiled brightly. The guy beside her followed her gaze and gave a polite nod before stepping back.
"Thanks again!" Yuki called to him, raising the plushie slightly. "I owe you one."
The guy gave a casual wave and a smile, "No problem. Take care, Kageyama."
"Bye!" Yuki waved back as she began walking towards Osamu, her steps light and easy, the plushie clutched in one hand.
Osamu watched her approach, and despite the lingering frustration, he couldn't help but feel a sense of relief wash over him. She was coming over. He felt his shoulders relax just a little.
As Yuki reached them, she gave Osamu a curious glance. "You guys done with the zombie game?" she asked, her tone light and teasing as she waved the plushie around, still clutching it in one hand.
Osamu nodded, a small but relieved smile tugging at his lips. "Yeah, I think we're done with that for now."
Atsumu, clearly still enjoying teasing his twin, threw a quick glance at Osamu before turning back to Yuki with a grin. "We should totally hit up something different now. How about Pac-Man?" He gestured toward the classic arcade machine in the corner.
Yuki raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "Pac-Man, huh? That sounds like fun."
"I'm telling you, I'm a master at Pac-Man," Atsumu said with a proud grin, brushing imaginary dust off his shoulders. "You ready to lose?"
Yuki chuckled. "We'll see about that."
As they made their way over to the Pac-Man machine, Osamu followed closely behind. He couldn't help but notice the way Yuki's smile lingered, the way she spoke so casually, so easily with Atsumu. It made him feel a little... off, but not in a bad way. More like it was a sense of familiarity settling in. He wasn't used to seeing her so relaxed and confident around everyone else.
When they reached the machine, Atsumu wasted no time. He grabbed a joystick and started setting up the game. "Alright, Yuki. You can't hide from the Pac-Man king."
Osamu chuckled under his breath, the tension he had been holding slowly easing as the playful atmosphere surrounded them. "Don't worry, Yuki. You've got this."
"I'll try my best," Yuki said with a smile, stepping up next to Atsumu and taking her spot at the machine.
When the game started, and Atsumu immediately jumped into action, fingers flying over the joystick as he steered Pac-Man through the maze. His exaggerated movements and loud commentary filled the air.
"Watch this! I'm gonna clear this level without even breaking a sweat," he boasted, grinning like he already had the game in the bag.
Yuki, on the other hand, was focused. She didn't make any unnecessary noise, just the steady clicking of the joystick and the concentration on her face. Her movements were precise, as if she had already memorized the game's patterns.
Osamu watched quietly from behind them, leaning slightly against the machine. His eyes followed the way Yuki maneuvered through the maze with an intensity that made him admire her. He didn't know she was this good at arcade games, but something about it—the way she seemed so determined—fascinated him.
A few minutes into the game, Atsumu's confidence started to falter. His Pac-Man got cornered by the ghosts, and he groaned in frustration, swatting at the air as if it could magically help him.
"What?! How did I lose?!" Atsumu exclaimed, throwing his hands up in the air.
Yuki didn't even glance at him. She was too focused, her eyes darting between the maze and the ghosts.
And then, just like that, she cleared the level. The sound of victory blared from the machine as her Pac-Man consumed the final pellet.
"YES!" Yuki cheered, practically bouncing on her feet. The excitement lit up her face, her eyes sparkling with triumph.
Without thinking, she reached out and pulled Osamu into a tight hug, lifting him off the ground for a second.
"I won! I won!" she laughed, her voice full of joy as she squeezed him. "Take that, Atsumu!"
Atsumu just blinked in disbelief, his jaw slack. "Huh? What? No way—"
But before he could finish his protest, Yuki pulled away from Osamu, giving him a playful push. "Aha! I beat the Pac-Man king himself!"
Osamu, still a bit surprised by the hug, found himself smiling involuntarily. He wasn't sure why it felt so natural to hug her, but he couldn't deny that her excitement was contagious.
"You really got him," Osamu said, his voice softer than usual, and his expression more relaxed. It was rare to see his twin lose so dramatically, but he couldn't deny that it was kind of amusing.
Yuki turned toward Atsumu, hands on her hips, a victorious grin spreading across her face. "Next time, you're going down, Atsumu. I'm the new Pac-Man champion!"
Atsumu just shook his head in mock defeat, his grin never leaving his face. "I'm not gonna hear the end of this, am I?"
"Not a chance," Yuki replied, sticking her tongue out playfully at him. "I'll be holding this over your head forever."
