BIBOERE'S P.O.V:

"For what the Master of the Universe has joined togeda, let no man...say it together with me, oh ye gentiles!" Pastor Ebenezer dramatically shouted to the church and our special attendees.

"Put asunder." Everyone replied back as I grumbled under my breath. My feet were killing me and I was this close to throwing the pair of Jimmy Choos caging my delicate toes, away. I felt Eloka subtly caress my palms as my hands rested in his. Warmth overwhelmed not just my body, but my soul. And for a second, I recalled I was currently on an altar, getting married.

"May this marriage be blessed!"

"AMEN!"

"May this union be filled with unconditional love and BABIES!" Despite my eyes were closed, I could bet on my wedding ring that Pastor Ebenezer was currently overdoing his body language as he prayed for us. An eternity had passed since my semi-sober father walked myself, who was beautifully dressed in a pretty mermaid gown—curtsy of Zikora and a certain redhead I drunkily made to be part of my bridesmaids train few months ago, despite not knowing her well enough—down the aisle. If not for the two of them, I would have not gotten my wedding gown due to how indecisive and overwhelmed I had gotten.

"AH-ME-NI OH!" Everyone present in the church replied, but my father's voice and chronic Ijaw accent that stressed the amen, overpowered them all. "Baby boys!"

My left eye opened, only in time for me to catch a smirk rested on Eloka's lips.

God.

"And now..." Pastor Ebenezer deepened his ugly voice to intensify the moment. "The bride and groom themselves told me not to say this statement, but I am a man of God. Whatever the Father has ordained me to do, how could I not do it?" Simultaneously, both I and Eloka's eyes popped wide open. Our necks angled at a horrifyingly slow pace, as we shot dangerous glares to the 'Man of God' my mother so desperately argued with me for him to wed us. "If anyone present...knows..." He better not— "...of any reason why these two should not be joined in holy matrimony, speak now, or forever hold your peace. For the Bible says say the truth and shame the devil!"

"Did the Bible actually quote that?" I overheard Tariere whisper from where she stood behind me as one of my bridesmaids.

"What's a Bible?" My sister's step cousin-in-law dementedly inquired behind her.

"Ellie, are you ser—"

"Shhh!" Zikora ruthlessly cut off Ebiere who was currently sitting on a chair, due to the lack of energy she still battled with during her post partum. My chief bridesmaid furiously snapped at them.

"Anybody?" Pastor Ebenezer faced the crowd as all eyes ran down to two particular individuals present. I saw as my future husband squinted his vision towards a smirk held by my soon-to-be father-in-law. His wife subtly positioned her palm on his thigh, urging him not unleash the devil in him.

My eyes ran round the church as I locked eyes with one of the security men dressed in a sharp white suit. They were all discreetly positioned at every weak point of the church where the safety of our guests could be maneuvered. Not just because of the dignitaries and high profile people which consisted of both local and international figures. I mean, Diana was currently sitting on the row reserved for my asoebi girls. Alongside a very giddy Tiffany Lanes who was dressed in a chic Afro-couture look. But also because after months and months of arguing with Eze, Mr. Wormwood, and the chief of Obasi security over the venue of this wedding, I won.
