The moment the dance ended, Idia dropped to his knees, panting. "I can't keep this up... All this spinning is making me dizzy..."

"Myahahah," Grim cackled. "Everyone's totally dazzled by me! Let's crank this party UP!" He cheered, tail swishing in excitement.

Silence.

Grim blinked and looked around. "Hey, wait... Where'd all the tambourine sparklies go?"

Trein stepped forward, gently brushing (y/n)'s hair back into place once she got off the stage with the others. "Those tambourines are simple magical trinkets made specifically for this dance. I imagine the magic they were imbued with has run out" he explained calmly.

"There you go, my dear. Your hair is now neat and tidy" he said with a satisfied nod.

"Thank you, Trein-sensei" (y/n) replied politely, a soft smile gracing her lips.

Trein returned the smile with quiet fondness in his eyes.

Off to the side, Rollo huffed behind his handkerchief. "It's finally over" he muttered, voice tight with suppressed disdain.

Straightening his posture, he announced to the crowd, "Well, everyone—what say we wrap up here and adjourn back to campus?"

"I don't wanna!" Grim protested, stomping on his feet like a child. Sparks of magic began to gather in his paws. "I'm just gettin' started!"

"Time to REALLY spice things up!"

(y/n)'s eyes widened sharply. Her smile dropped in an instant, replaced by urgency. "Wait—Grim, don't!" she called out, darting forward to stop him.

But it was too late.

"MRAAAH!" Grim roared, flinging his paws toward the sky in reckless excitement

!!!

"Ooh, fireworks! Where are they coming from?" A villager gasped, eyes lighting up. "They're so pretty and sparkly—way bigger than the ones from the tambourines!"

"Check it out, (y/n)! Everyone's goin' gaga over my magic" Grim beamed proudly, his chest puffed out.

"Grim!" Deuce snapped, clearly exasperated. "You should know better than to just fire off magic in the streets!"

Grim smirked, unfazed. "Heh heh. You're just jealous 'cause everyone's impressed with ME"

"No such thing." Sebek barked. "Your antics risk my liege and Lady (y/n) losing face!"

The crowd's attention turned as the clown clapped his hands to recenter the mood. "Okay, everybody. It looks like some mischievous fledging mage decided to gift us a little present..."

He paused, flashing a bright smile.

"And hey, this festival only comes once a year! So let's forget all our cares and party down!"

Cheers erupted among the villagers.

"That was so cool! Do the fireworks again!"

"Come on, everyone, let's dance some more!" a dancer called out, spinning on stage.

Epel let out relieved sigh, watching the crowd. "Looks like all the festivalgoers are happy. Good for you Grim. Now Trein-sensei will let you off the hook for using magic."

He glanced at the stern professor... and immediately sweatdropped.

"Scratch that, he's totally peeved!"

"I should think so" Jamil added dryly. "Someone as strict as Trein-sensei wouldn't just let you get away with breaking the rules"

"Poor Grim" Deuce muttered with a shake of his head. "He's gonna get the lecture of a lifetime when we get back to Night Raven"
