Was It Me?

I used to think,

It was my fault you ran away.

I used to think,

You hated the games we played.

I always had fun,

Playing Cat and Mouse.

You were always the Cat,

I was the Mouse.

You didn't do very good,

You never did win.

But I thought we had fun.

If you promise to come back,

We won't play it again.

I thought,

It was because you hated me.

I thought,

Maybe I was too annoying.

I thought,

Maybe you would be better off without me.

I asked our parent's,

They tell me to go away.

Watch some TV,

Read a book,

Anything that doesn't involve,

Questioning what they said.

I go to my room,

That we used to share.

Would you believe,

Our parent's tried to take your stuff?

I screamed till they stopped

and brought it back.

I told them to wait,

As you would be back.
