"Hey guys I'm getting James's set of Gobstones because we're taking a break from planning. Do you want to p-" Peter opened the door to the dormitory and broke off when he saw Remus and Sirius embracing each other.

"Oh. I'll go now. Have fun." Peter said, turning red. He quickly and turned closing the door and went back downstairs to James.

"Hey Peter. Did you get the game? Do Sirius and Remus want to play?" James said when Peter had returned.

"Um... No. And I don't think they want to. They're... Busy. They're... Um... Did you know they were...?" Peter babbled.

"Thanks for clearing that up, Pete." James said sarcastically "What are they doing up there?"

Peter muttered something about 'not knowing' and 'together' and 'hug.'

'Hug' must have been the magic word because James's face lit up with understanding. He jumped up and yelled "Dammit! They did it on their own! I had a plan! They have ruined my master scheme!" and ran up to the dormitory, leaving a very confused Peter behind by himself.

James hurtled up the stairs and burst into the dormitory.

"You did it yourselves! I had a whole entire perfect plan worked out, but you had to go and work it out by yourself. Why must you always thwart me, Moony?"

Sirius and Remus were sitting on Remus's bed looking flushed and happy and thoroughly confused by James's sudden outburst.

"What on earth?" Sirius asked.

James looked at the two of them. "Wait. You did figure it out, right? Peter didn't give me false information did he?"

"James, what on earth are you talking about?" Sirius asked for the second time.

"You two fancy each other and wouldn't admit it. But Peter just walked in on you two hugging. Allegedly. He's been known to make stuff up. Although probably not this. So, what's the deal? Have you two come out to each other yet?"

Remus and Sirius looked at James, looked at each other, and looked back at James.

"Wait," James said, slowing down and looking cautious "You did tell each other, right? Because if you didn't and I just said something I shouldn't have I'm sorry."

"No, we um... Found out about five minutes before you came in but what's going on with this whole "plan" thing?" Remus asked.

"Oh. That. It's a long story but you both know parts of it. Do you want to tell it to each other or shall I streamline the process and tell the whole thing?"

"Just go for it, James. It'll be faster and simpler." Remus said.

"Okay. Here goes," James began "This summer, while Sirius was at my place, it was like three am, but for some reason he just decides to just ask out of the blue 'What would you do if I told you I fancied blokes?' So I roll over and tell him it would be fine and that I would find him a boyfriend and hex anyone who hurt him,"

"You weren't supposed to be awake," Sirius interrupted "I was just practicing saying the words,"

"Oh. Well. Anyway, it worked. Back to my story," James continued "We're on the Hogwarts Express and Remus, you're asleep on Sirius and Sirius is sort of hugging you and so when Peter leaves, I ask if he fancies you and he nods. So there's that. Now I kept that a secret, me being the trustworthy soul that I am, and I don't say anything about that to anyone.

"Now, Remus, here's where you become a part of all this. Remus and I are hanging out while someone is off in the hospital wing with horns," James said, looking at Sirius.

Sirius shrugged. "Sorry,"

"Anyway, I ask Remus if he fancies anyone and he grunts and I keep  asking and he keeps changing the subject and then he's all like 'I'm not telling you because you'd tell him and I don't want him to know.' And then he realizes that he said 'he' and sort of freaks out, but seriously, I mean, I was already cool with the werewolf thing, was being gay really that big of a deal? But anyway, I tell him what I told Sirius about being nice and jinxing those who gave him a hard time and finding a boyfriend and we move on.

"But now I have to find a way to get you two to tell each other because you weren't going to do it on your own. So I consult Lily, not using names of course, and she tells me to lock you in a room together and tell you both the whole Person A likes Person B thing and not let you out until you had kissed. So I was going to do that today, but you did it before I could. How did that happen?" James asked.

Sirius and Remus looked at each other for a while before Remus said "I was asleep and Sirius started talking to me. And then I woke up in the middle of a long speech about why we shouldn't date each other. So I just lay there listening and I discover that Sirius fancies me."

"Why are people never asleep when I tell them these things? Really! That always happens! I demand to know why!" Sirius interrupted.

Remus continued as if he hadn't heard. "This complicates things slightly, as the reasons for not dating were very good, but knowing about his feeling made it awkward and I was all blushy and couldn't look at Sirius. That had to stop before the rest of you figured out what was going on. So I got out of the hospital and worked up the nerve to tell him and I did, and we kissed, and it was great."

"Well good for you guys. I'm happy for you. And I'm actually glad that I didn't have to use my plan, because I didn't really like it and I couldn't stand to see Lily say 'I told you so'" James said

"By the way, what are the reasons for not dating? Because you two are perfect for each other and there's a war starting outside so you might as well be happy for as long as possible," James added.

"Well," Sirius began, "I've never had a stable relationship and if we break up, it would definitely mess up the Marauders. And even if we didn't break up, it would still change us from four guys to a couple and two friends. It wouldn't work,"

"We could work around that," James replied "But I'll give you two a minute to figure it all out on your own. By the way, does Wormtail know?"

Both Remus and Sirius shook their heads.

"Okay. I mean, he saw you hugging so he probably suspects something. But I'll let you tell him yourselves," James said.

James smiled at the two other boys and left the dormitory. Sirius and Remus looked at each other.

"I guess it couldn't hurt to try a relationship? Would it?" Remus said eventually.

Sirius smiled "Alright," He leaned towards Remus and their lips met again.
