In 1968 the band smile was stared. They stayed together until 1970 when Freddie Mercury joined Roger Meddows Taylor, Brian May and Tim Staffell in Smile. Then Freddie told them to change the name to Queen and as we can see they did. Freddie changed is name. His name was Farrokh Bulsara but he thought it was better as Freddie Mercury. Tim Staffell left the band and in 1971 John Deacon joined the band. And that's how the Queen we know and love began.
