The very next day, a divorce is issued. It was filled with lawyers, crying shouting, fighting, and hatred. Eventually, Rebecca won. She was now unmarried. But that wasn't the highlight of the week. A few nights ago, Rebecca made a confession.
"I am a heroin addict," she said. Jarrett stood there in disbelief. His girlfriend. An addict.
"I can't do this anymore," he responded.
"Do what?"
"Us."
Rebecca's heart dropped. She fell to her knees and cried. She couldn't stop crying.
"I'm taking you to rehab."
The next day, they both get in the car to go to rehab.
"I'm sorry," he says. "You can come back to my house when you get out. We can stay friends!"
They soon arrived at the mental institute. They fill out the paperwork, give info, then just stand there. They look at each other and hug tightly.
"I'm so sorry. It's for the best." He says. They pull away, but come back together for one last kiss. It only lasts a few seconds, but it feels like an eternity.
She walks through the door, waving as she does. With that, they were over.
