In a dark and gloomy kingdom

Where all was black and white

The people slept in pitch-black ink

While others bathed in light

Simple things like grass or trees

Lacked the greens that dotted along

Butterflies were as plain as moths

And the crows were the only birdsong

That world was no place for joy

Ruled by a Queen as unhappy as a peasant

But yet! This existence came, so dazzling indeed!

To make their lives a little more pleasant.

Alas, pleasant lives are achieved through hard ones.
