I don't really have one specific, clear memory of how or when my parents first found out. I'm almost certain that I told them and not the other way around. I am positive about their reactions, though. Mom had given me a tiny little grin, the gleam in her eye suggesting that she'd known all along. My father, however, was completely and utterly struck. He began to test me. He'd ask what he was thinking, what Mom was thinking, what random strangers were thinking. Although I was always right, he continued these tests for years, as if it was all some big joke Mom and I were playing on him and that I'd eventually slip up.

I never slipped up, but I know the exact day he stopped testing me to see if I would.
