Neji x Reader

"8 trigrams, 64 palms!" You peered around the corner at the training ground to see Team 9 doing their usual practises. Lee was running around trying to attack Neji from different angles, however Neji was hitting him away each time, Lee's brows got closer together.

"TenTen! Don't stand there! Gai-sensei has told us to train and train we shall!" TenTen looked at Lee and sighed.

"I don't know why your on my back, training with Neji is more challenging for you then with me..." Lee could see she wasn't in the mood so told Neji they were going to practise with Neji's byakugan.

"Right so I'm going to hide in the forest surrounding here, you just do what you do and find me!" Before Neji was able to answer back, Lee was off and into the darkness.

Suddenly it hit you that when Neji used his byakugan he would be able to see you, standing there watching them train. Panicking you looked around to try and find a place to hide in the trees hoping he would miss you and find Lee instead.

"Byakugan!"

Holding your breath you glanced down from the branch you were standing on, watching Neji below you looking around. He must have found Lee as he took off in the direction Lee did. You let out a sigh of relief and sat back and leant onto the trunk. Thankfully no-one had seen you, how embarrassing would it be for you for them to have spotted you!? You closed you eyes, heart racing from the past events.

"Wh-wh-what! Put me down!" You felt the blood rushing to your head scared to open your eyes you squinted and found that someone was holding you, by your ankle, over the edge of the branch, head first.

"First rule, Never  let your guard down!"

Ne-Neji?!

Pulling you back onto the branch you stared at the long haired Hyuga and placed your head in your hands.

"Dam it Neji, how'd you spot me?"

He laughed for a second and sat opposite you, "you are joking right (Y/N), you know you just asked that question to someone who can see through walls." He started laughing again. Blushing with embarrassment you realised why Neji was looking different siting there.

"Your laughing, smiling!? This is rare ..... very rare...... why?"

He looked up, red from laughing and glared at me. "Hmmmmm, what's that suppose to mean?"

Now you started to giggle. You and Neji had been friends since the exams and you loved team 9, they were always so motivated to train, well two was at least.

"I'm just saying you should laugh more, a smile suits you." Realising the compliment you had given him you began to blush and so did he. "Oh wait Neji! Lee! We're forgetting Lee!"

He stood up grabbed your hand making you turn crimson and tugged you along on the trip to find Lee, half an hour later then he was suppose to....
