Un

She spreads her arms so wide,

like she knows exactly how to fly.

She longs for the wind to carry her

Up, up, up, high above the sky.

As she gets higher above the ground,

She knows she'll never come back down,

And this day is the day

She'll be set free.

He looks at her as she grew wings.
His eyes filled with happy tears,

His chest crumbling among his fears.

How can she fly without me?

His heart asks through his eyes.

He wants to hold her down

And keep her in his arms

But his weary hands

Hold not her destiny.

I saw him looking at her.

He has always looked at her

like she's the only girl that

his eyes could see,

the girl that makes his hands

write sad verses,

the girl that makes her heart

grow thick bushes.

I want to keep that heart,

Find it, put back the missing parts,

but as I stand here, watching him look at her,

I also watch his heart flying away with her.
