I breathe of thin air

the morn was crisp

it reminded me of how much

I forgot to forget you today

I bathe of thick water

standing under cold showers

still waiting patiently, maybe

your skies would appear

I'm looking up

Oh I'm looking

up

It has been so long

since I forgot

how your downpour

feels when it falls

right down on my cheeks

Return to me

like how the rain

would come back down

to Earth every time

I had now been so familiar

with the scent of summers

But I could only keep my ruins

Well-preserved in winter

If histories

were intertwined with scents,

I've got ours, still

all over me, still

down to the last page

Was there a cure?

I have asked enough

The sun was long out

You're still the person I write about

Return to me,

maybe,

in letters, in bits

of poetry

Time might

take a sweet time

erasing what the heart

took years to sow and reap,

the mind has letters

you won't read

forever, a secret it'll keep

I'm looking up

Oh one last time, still

I'm looking

up

I hum of slow farewell

in a key of eulogy

to sit with the silence

standing at my door

Do you hear that, love?

Goodbye's coming.

Say goodbye to everything.

This is everything I didn't say.

Fin.
