Chapter 24 - I solemnly swear that I am up to no good
I hair blowed my head, even that it's so hot, I need to do it. Call me anything you want, your words are no match to me. Oh Lord, I wish our plan works.
I heard my mom screaming at me, "Marielle Hamilton, Wake up and you have classes today!"
I hid the hair blower under my bed and pulled up my duvets up to my chin and pretended to cough as I heard footsteps coming to my door.
KNOCK. KNOCK.
"C-come in." I stuttered with a fake cough.
My mom came in, her face showed concern as she saw me lying on my bed, she thought that I am sick. She walked towards me and placed his hand on my forehead. "You are hot." She said and removed her hand.
"M-mom, I-I can't go to school. C-can I stay here and rest the whole d-day?" I stuttered. She nodded in agreement. "Sweetie, get some rest, okay? I'll take you to the doctor-"
"N-no need for that, mother. I just need a good long sleep. Don't worry about me." I stuttered, fake coughed.
She nodded slowly and I gave her a weak smile. "Thanks, mom."
"You are-"
"Dear, you have a call!" Dad said as he peeked in the room, he winked at me and I managed a weak smirk. "Hi, dad."
"Hello, sweetie. Get well soon, okay?" he smiled and chuckled mischieviously.
"Yeah. Of course."
"Who is the caller?" My mom asked, folded her arms. "Jana. She wanted to talk to Marielle, but Marielle is too weak to move to so you're the one who needs to explain Jana." Dad said.
"Why me?"
"Because you know what to say."
"You are more clever than me."
"Just explain to her, dear."
My mom breathed deeply, nodded then dashed downstairs to pick the phone. My lips curved into an evil smirk and sat up, pretended that nothing had happened. Well, I am not really sick. It's just a part of our plan.
"Dad, this plan better work or not. I am grounded as long as mom forgiven me." I squealed, he only chuckled and left my room. I rested my head on my fluffy pillow, I wonder, would this plan work? or not? It better should! Mom came back, she brought me chicken soup and juice for me to eat. "Mom, I am not hungry. I just wanted to sleep." I said, completely not lying! I meant it.
"Okay. Anyways, Jana said that she'll visit you today." she said.
"That's... great." I uttered. She kissed my forehead before she leaved my room. I closed my eyes, and later on. I fell asleep. This might not be in our plan but who cares? I am just... sleepy. So I won't waste this oppurtunity to sleep. Haha.
----
KNOCK. KNOCK.
"Who is it?" I moaned.
"It's your sister! Now, go and get your arse off your bed. I am feeding you today!" She squealed. I quickly stood up to open the door. There stood my lovely bestfriend/sister Jana Khoeler, holding a tray of chicken soup and orange juice. I moved aside for her to come in and slammed the door. Jana proceeded to my mini kitchen and placed the tray on the kitchen counter. I took a stool and places it beside the counter. I sat on the stool, smelled the freshly cooked chicken soup and the sweet smell of orange juice. "Thank you for everything."
"It's nothing, Ynaboo." she smiled and stroked my hair, my dry hair. "Whoa, why is your hair so dry? I can't even comb it by using my hand."
My cheeks flushed of embarrassment. "I haven't take a bath, I... slept for hours instead."
