Empress Regent Clivia Tharn's Empire was weak. After Emperor Varen Aquilarios' mysterious and sudden disappearance the Empire began to collapse and a foul darkness shrouded Mundus. The Empire's weakness became evident across Tamriel, sparking ideas of war.
All of a sudden, in the Second Era, year 580 a great war broke out across the great continent of Tamriel. Four armies marched into Cyrodiil, ready to fight for control of the Ruby Throne of Cyrodiil in order to rule over the vast continent of Tamriel. Those great alliances were The Aldmeri Dominion, The Daggerfall Covenant, The Ebonheart Pact and the Daedric forces of Oblivion led by the merciless Daedric Prince Molag Bal.
Cyrodiil's once green, lush lands have been contested in darkness, death and destruction. Armies of gold, sapphire and crimson clashed across the continent, while dark, twisted creatures sent from Molag Bal's realm of Coldharbour descended upon the continent, seizing the Imperial city and wreaking havoc across the land.
One Bosmer named Arinlas Wild-Heart, a once peaceful Mer, decided to take action after the destruction of his home and avenge the shattered Wild-Heart family.
