Chapter 60 - Helicopter

Alex's P.o.v.

"Our group is falling apart. We're broken. I think our strength has finally given out. Running and losing people is all we do now. I don't get why we're even trying anymore. We lost so many people and it's only a matter of time till I die, till Carl dies. To many people. To many good people to be exact. After losing Beth we thought no one else would die but we were wrong. It only took a matter of weeks before another one of us died." I finished my speech and took a step back from the grave. Carl looked at me with worry. I don't take back what I said, because it's true. We lost another good person...another good soul.

~A couple hours earlier~

"Carl, Alex is going with us to help. You can stay here. She's a big girl." Rick tells Carl. He looks at me and sighs. "Fine she can go. But Alex, you need to promise me you will be safe alright? After losing Beth we don't need to lose another person." Carl says. "I promise baby." He walks up to me and kisses my lips. I pull away and rub my fingers over his half of the necklace. "Always?" I ask. "Always." He nods. I kiss him once more before going to Grayson. "Maggie, take good care of him okay? Please? I haven't left him like this before." I tell her.

Maggie has been...not really good. We've been on the road for weeks now. We're in Virgina now I think, I'm not sure.

"Yeah..." She says. I just smile and kiss Grayson's head. "Mommy will be back, I love you baby boy." I walk back to Carl and hug him.

The only reason why we came to Virgina is because Noah, who is the boy Beth helped escape, his family lives here. One of her missions was to bring him here so he could be with his family. We're here to full fill that. Rick gatherd a couple of us to go and check out his neighborhood. I'm one of those people.

"Alright Alex we're leaving." Rick informs me. I look up at Carl and he kisses me. "Be safe, I love you." He says. I nod "I love you too." I go to pull away but he pulls me back. "Always?" He asks. I look into his blue eyes. "Always." He then lets me go and I get into the car.

We park in the woods and get out. We start walking but something odd was tied to the trees.

"Boobie traps...just step over the lines." Rick tells us. Thats what we did. After the Boobie traps, we walked alittle bit before we enterd his neighborhood.

It's...gone. It's trashed and...it's just dead. Noah crashes to the ground. I feel so bad.

"It's gone! My family!" Noah cries. "Split up lets go." Rick, Michonne and Glenn ran together. I stayed with Tyresse and Noah.

Poor Noah. His family is gone. This is horrible.

"I'm sorry." I say leaning down to him. "You're part of us now." Tyresse says to him. Yes, he's part of our group now. He's family. "You're family, Noah." I say to him. Noah stands but then takes off running. "Noah! Wait!" I yell running after him. As I'm running I notice words spray painted on the houses and stone. It said "Wolves not far" What the hell does that mean?

Noah stopped which made me and Tyresse stop. "Is this your house?" I asked. Noah noded and went in. We followed. His house was trashed and oh God...
