Chapter 3: Home

~Few Weeks Later~

Peeta carries a weak and tired Emilia into the house, the past few weeks have been stressful, news of humans coming closer to our boarders, Emilia with her cancer, school work, look out runs, I'm literally stressing, haven't been able to sleep, I just get nightmares and I haven't been home from the hospital so Peeta can't help, the whole pack is worried about Emilia, Peeta and I mostly, I mean our little girl has cancer.

I open Emilias door and stick my head in and see her fast asleep, I tip toe in and climb in and snuggle into her chest and close my eyes and I drift off to sleep.

"Mama" I feel Emilia shake me awake

"Yeah" I say yawning

"I heard papa say it's dinner" she says softly and I nod and pick her up and start walking down the stairs and put her in her chair and I sit on Peetas lap and lay my head on his chest and he rubs my shoulder

"You okay?" He whispers in my ear and I nod yawning

"Yeah, just tired" I say

"You can eat and I'll take you up to bed okay?" He says and I nod and start eating.

After I finish eating Peeta picks me up bridal style and takes me up to our bedroom and lays me in bed

"Lay with me, please" I ask and he smiles and nods and he lays in our bed with me and rubs my back till I fall asleep and my mind gives me dreamless and peaceful rest.

~Three Weeks Later~

Well days haven't gotten better, constantly looking after Emilia and when we're not, Peeta and I are on boarder runs, humans sent is getting closer and closer, if they find our pack home, we'll have to move further or try to reason with them at least.

Peeta and I look out into the distance in our wolf form checking for any signs, I can tell he's stressed

Honey are you okay? I say in the mind link

Just worried, I mean we don't have the things to move to many people with young children, we have Emilia, if we move she could get worse, all bad things are happening to me because I'm a bad alpha, I'm not like my father. He turns his head to walk away

Peeta! Stop saying that! Your children love you! This pack loves you! And I love you with all my heart! From the years I've been here all I've seen from you is kindness, you raise our kids to be happy and be thankful about what they have, no don't you think for one second that your a bad alpha!. He still has his head hanged down so I walk over to him on my four legs and I lick him

"Mama papa?" Emilia says

"Yeah?" I say

"Are there any healers left in the world?" She asks and I look to Peeta

"A few" Peeta answers

"Why are you asking?" He adds

"Welllll I was maybe wondering if maybe we could go to a healer and ask if they can take this cancer away?" She asks and I look at Peeta and he nods

"Okay there's a little tribe not far up north and its surrounded by healers, we'll take you there in a few weeks" Peeta says and she smiles, I take Abby of my breast and pull my shirt down and I start burping her

"You know I'm like the strongest in my class" Xander speaks up and I chuckle

"And why's that?" I ask and he looks down blushing

"Cause all the girls say it, including" he stops and Peeta and I look to each other

"Spit it out" I say patting Abby's back

"Including my mate" he says and I look at him shocked, my little man growing up so fast,

"Well will we be meeting this mystery girl?" I ask and he blushes

"I don't know" he says and I roll my eyes

"Your like what 12 and can't ask your own mate out?" I say

"Actually I'm turning 14" he corrects and I smile

"Oh I'm sorry 14 then, suppose to be even more mature and confident" I say and the rest of that day we just have fun and be a happy family.
