Miranda's pov
I hold Sierra on my hip as my amazing boyfriend sings with Kenny Chesney onstage. I've never seen my little one so happy. He burns a little air guitar with a big smile on his face. He loves doing this. Someone tosses him something. He catches it. It's a beer. The band cheers along with Kenny. What's he doing? He opens it and smashes it, showering beer on anyone in the front row. Kenny pats his back and he laughs. "Ok guys one more song." He says, still laughing. Kenny goes to the edge of the stage singing my tractor's sexy. The look on Jason's face makes me laugh so hard.
*after the show*
We're hanging out backstage, Sierra talking with Kenny. "That kid is such a die hard fan." Tully says, laughing. When she gets bigger we won't be able to come on the road with him since she'll be in school not daycare. I don't want him to have to give something like this up. He is so happy doing it. "Jason, can we talk for a second?" I ask, watching Sierra, trying hard not to cry. "Yeah of course, what's up?" "I don't want you to have to give all this up." "Give it up hun, what are you talking about?" "You know. It's not easy to do this while having a family." He shakes his head. "Darlin' nothing worth fighting for is easy. But I'm not the kind to give up, especially when it comes to family." "You really want to deal with my hectic life?" "Baby, tour is hectic. Coming home to you and Sierra is the least hectic part of my life." He says, holding me tight. "I promised I wasn't going anywhere and I meant it. You're not gonna push me away." I can't help it. Tears spring to my eyes. He smiles and wipes them away. "You're the best thing to ever fall into my lap." He kisses me. Out of the corner of my eye, I see Sierra yawn. "Someone's tired." I say, pointing. He glances back at her. "Don't try to get rid of me. I won't let ya." He says with a smile. He walks over and picks Sierra up. "It's been a long night. It's time for the little one to hit the sack." "I don't wanna." She mumbles, already half asleep in Jason's arms. He smiles down at the exhausted toddler. "Come on, let's get back to the bus." We go back to his bus where he sings her to sleep. He sits beside me on the couch. "I do need to know though. There's no chance of the other dad coming back?" "No. When he found out I was pregnant, he cussed me out. He didn't want her." I say. "Good." I look at him surprised. "Good? What do you mean good?" I gasp. "I don't have to worry about someone else tryin' to take her away." I smile. "I don't know how you do it." He hugs me. "I don't have to do nothin'." I know exactly what he means. It comes natural to take care of us because he loves us so so much and no matter how much I try to make him a free man, he won't have any of it. I fall asleep in his safe warm protective arms.
*the next day*
I wake up without Jason. Where is he? I get up, seeing the bedroom door cracked. I push it open, seeing the cutest sight. Sierra asleep, curled up next to him, an arm around her. I walk in and kiss her head and his. He wakes up. I smile. "That's adorable." He smiles. "Yeah she woke up in the middle of the night and didn't want to sleep alone." He says, easing out from under her. We go back out to the living room. "Hungry honey?" He asks. "Only for you." I say, kissing him. He wraps his arms around my waist. "Don't ever doubt that I'll be around and baby don't you ever forget, til my last day on this earth and the many days after in heaven, I'll be lovin' you." "That should be a song." I say, my arms around his neck. He chuckles. "Some of it is." He says shrugging. I laugh. He silences it with another kiss.
