sam and dean went to a funeral.
castiel knew they were sad for their friends death.
castiel decided he wanted to make them happy.
he thought an explantation would do so.
when sam and dean got back from the funeral they were not surprised.
nothing was different.
the only thing that was different is that there were two notes. one on sam's bed, the other on dean's.
the notes both said the same thing.
"im sorry i've been 'weird' to you lately. i just
