We begin our story at the end of the beginning. The time I decided I was in love. When I finally realized that I needed to protect her. But there were issues. For one, I was in the Third Reich. And her father was a dedicated Austrian. They ran away, and I helped them. At the time, I was just focused on turning her father in. I warned her earlier that day that her father should get out of the country. But the way I said it made it sound like I was turning on her, and her family. But you've got understand, I was just trying to keep up appearances.
And then I found them in the Abbey. To hiding in the garden, and I turned on her father. I was all set to turn the men and then I turned around to shine the flashlight on her, my heart dropped, in that moment I knew that I loved her. And so, I left. I ran away. I didn't know what else to do. I couldn't show my face back to the Third Reich for I knew I'd be punished.
So this is where I begin. Alone, a fugitive, And hopelessly in love with Leisel Von Trapp.
