Chapter 2
"SLYTHERIN!" Shouted the hat.
-------------------------------------------
Scarlett
After hearing that word, I jumped off the stool and ran over to the Slytherin table. A couple other first years were talking with the older kids. I sat down, looked at the other people. And worked up the courage to talk to someone.
"Hi." I said to a random person, but they kept talking to the person in front of them, "HI!" I said even louder, but it was too loud, no one could hear me, in fact it was so loud that I couldn't even hear the sorting going on, all I heard was.
"Mmmmph, mmmpphh mmm mmmpphh." Yeah, it was that loud. I turned again to face the back of someone, but before I said anything, professor Mcgonagall said VERY loudly. "Alright, go on to your common rooms, first years, please follow your house Prefects! Oh, and mind you don't anger the caretaker, Mr. Filch, he's over there by the door." I looked over to the door, and saw a rather dirty looking man with a scraggly beard and a torn overcoat. He also had a cat next to him who was equally as filthy. I was about to stand up, when a flood of kids rushed passed me and I was knocked over. But someone caught me. I looked to see who it was. The face I saw, had dark freckles, mint colored eyes, and short, very curly, very dark brown hair that could pass for black. "Hey, you ok?" The boy asked. There was a girl too. She looked completely different from the boy. With long straight blonde-almost white-hair, bright blue eyes, and a clear face(meaning no freckles). I stood up. They were very different in body too. The boy was tall and skinny, and the girl was short, but still skinny.
"Hi." Said the boy. "I'm Graham Montague, what's your name?"
"Uh, Scarlett Corano." I said. Then the girl stepped forward and said.
"Scarlett, I like that name, I'm Geneva Aspasia, pleased to meet you."
We three started walking along with the rest of the Slytherins, we walked in silence. When we got to the staircases, the prefect, said something.
"This way first years, come on come on, but be careful, the staircases, they like to change." I looked at the stairs, they seemed fine to me, until one unhooked itself from the patio and moved to another. It was so amazing. We walked down, and down, and down a bunch of stairs, till we got to the dungeons. And came to a very large, very solid brick wall. And the prefect said.
"Here we are, the Slytherin common room, now you all need to remember the password." He then said rather loudly. "Agapanthus." 'That is the weirdest password I've ever heard.' I thought. We all walked in, when we got in, the two people I had met before, came up behind me and said. "So, what's your blood status?" I turned around.
"Oh..." I stuttered, remembering what the boy on the train had said, "I'm muggle born." The looks on their faces were extremely odd. They almost looked frightened.
"A...a muggle born? In Slytherin?" I thought they would be mad, but I didn't know why. Graham's face went from astonishment, to amazement in a second.
"That's bloody amazing!" he said, "a muggle born in Slytherin, that's unheard of, but amazing anyhow." Geneva seemed the same. She said. "I think I'll really like you, I mean, you proved that it's not JUST your blood status that gets you in Slytherin."
"Wait, you mean there aren't any other muggle born's in Slytherin?" I asked. "Yeah." They both said.
"You're really muggle born?" Said a voice from behind me, that sounded like nails being dragged across a chalkboard, I turned to face a dark haired, tall boy, who looked like he had ignored the need for braces for six years.
"Yes?" I squeaked out. Wishing now that I wasn't there.
"Well, the name's Marcus Flint, and I guess we need to show this mudblood she's not welcome here." He then cracked his knuckles and pushed me down by my shoulders. My head hit the ground, and I remember hearing. "Stop it Marcus! What's wrong with you." 'Thanks for defending me Graham.' I thought. And I blacked out.
-------------------------------------------

"Scarlett."
'What's that voice.' I thought.
"Scaaarlett."
'There it is again.'
"SCARLETT." I opened my eyes and sat up. I was in a bed in the hospital wing, and to the sides of the bed, were Geneva, and Graham.
"Well, you're FINALLY awake." Said Geneva, "you've been out for six hours."
"Really?" I asked, "that long?" She nodded. I looked around the hospital wing. In the bed directly to my left, lay a one Marcus Flint, whose nose looked like it had been hit with a mallet a couple times, also a broken glass, and that it was covered with black, and purple paint.
"What happened to him?" I asked.
"Oh," said Geneva, "I'm pretty sure Graham has slight anger issues." She said.
"I don't have bloody anger issues!"
Graham almost shouted as he stood up from his chair. And I saw a quite purple and black eye on his face, and a bruise on his left cheek.
"Umm, ok," Geneva said, "we believe you, ha ha." She laughed with a tinge of fright. Graham must've realized the surprised looks on our faces, and said.
"Ok, maybe I have slight anger issues-or maybe more than that-but I'm still a completely sane person."
"Well ok then." Geneva said slowly.
"We didn't say you weren't." I said quickly.
"So what happened?" I asked. Graham looked at me in the face, like he was searching for something, then he looked away and told me.
"Well, you already know Marcus Flint knocked you down and you passed out, right?"
"Of course I do, but what happened after that."
"Well," he began." So after Marcus pushed you down, I may or may not have thrown some words at him that I can't repeat, oh and if you're wondering. Geneva gave me the bruise on my cheek for saying, a certain something." I tried to stifle a giggle.
"Anyway, here's the rest."

Flashback
"Get out a my way you blooming pillock!" Shouted Flint, and he threw a punch, landing his fist on Graham's eye. Graham's head was flung back. His face turned a certain color, a color as if a tomato and a strawberry had a baby.
"Oh that's it you b*****d, now you're gonna get it!" And he hit that older boy square in the nose, and sent him flying back to the floor.
"Well Graham, I think you need anger management." Said Geneva as she walked up to him. "And also?" She paused, and hit him on the cheek. "Don't curse around me, ok? Ok."
End of flashback

"And then we brought you here, and the other Slytherins insisted on bringing Marcus too, that son of a...*Geneva stare-down*...gun"
"Wow, well you're not as sweet and innocent as I thought Geneva." I said with a smile.
"Oh why thank you."
Madam Pomfrey arrived then, 'does everyone here looks like their face has been through a vacuum?' I thought. She told us we should all go back to our common rooms to sleep, so we got up, walked out, and walked downstairs to the Slytherin dungeons.

We got to the common rooms, and everyone was already asleep. So we said our goodnight's, walked into our separate rooms, got ready for bed, and went to sleep.
-------------------------------------------
I woke up to sun, lots and lots of it. I sat up and looked around. No one was there. I thought something.
'I slept in!! And no one woke me? Ahhhhh.' I jumped out of bed and scrambled to get ready, I got my robes on, and my shoes, grabbed my wand and my books, and ran out of the room, not even bothering to brush my hair. I was running down the hall, when I felt something at my feet, I looked down, there was nothing there. But before I could look up, I was tripping over my robe and falling, I heard someone say.
"I got you!" And when I landed, it wasn't the cold ground, it was something warm. I looked up to the person's face. It was rather adorable. I was still lying on his chest when he said.
"So...umm...hi," his voice kinda cracked, "what's your name?"
"Uh, Scarlett Corano." I said, actually smiling, "what's yours, I asked. He smirked, pushed me off of him, stood up, helped me up, took a step back, and said.
"Nice to meet you Scarlett, I'm Fred Weasley."
