Val's Russian Story and More Anonymous Threats Via Social Media

Jamie Benn was a tough man and he recovered from the on-ice incident rather quickly. He stormed into his house with Jordie, Tyler, Arielle and Val close behind. He threw himself onto the couch and began punching a pillow in anger. Arielle and Val tried to use teamwork and eventually they were able to tear the pillow free.

"I'm so furious, I can't even think straight! Rinaldo's a coward!" Jamie snapped.

"Why Rinaldo hurt you? No seem like accident to Val! And what is Pink Panther? No leave Val in dark! Tell!" Val put the pillow back in place on the couch and sat down. His blue eyes sparkled with curiosity.

"Alright, alright, settle down Russian," Jordie said.

Tyler sat down with Arielle beside him. He patted Jamie's shoulder. Jordie took a chair, across from them. Val smiled, waiting for an answer.

It was Arielle who kickstarted the conversation. "The Pink Panther is a rare diamond that I stole to help out my friend Reyna, whose boyfriend happens to be Alex Ovechkin. I left it behind for Tyler to find at his preseason party so that it wouldn't be taken back. I thought it would be the best way, until I learned that it apparently has the ability to control the possessor's mind."

"Wait, it can control my mind now?" Tyler questioned.

"Yeah, Reyna said Alex had changed and was straddling the line of sanity! We think that it is more than just a thing of value, but it can drive a person to insanity. "

"So that explains my night terrors and hallucinations then!"

"How did Ovi get it?" Jamie asked.

"That's still a mystery. I tried to text Reyna and ask her, but she hasn't responded and I'm getting rather worried."

"So what should we do about it then, Tyler can't keep it! I can't imagine an insane Tyler," Jamie stated. "Also Dallas needs a healthy Tyler Seguin."

"True," Jordie and Val echoed.

"Maybe Val can tell Russian story of Pink Panther?" Val suggested. "It was a cold December day in 1963 when jewel first came up, Val see it in equally cold December day in 2005 though..."

"Uh, Val, why are you speaking in third person? Also, you know about the Pink Panther?" Tyler inquired.

"Because Val can and yes. Pink Panther, Russian jewel, you know. In Russia, call it, uh, "Розовой пантеры." Very rare and pretty." Val raised his head up. "Is something Russia proud of."

Jamie heaved a sigh, finally calm. "Okay, fine, go ahead and tell your Russian story."

Val clapped his hands together like a little kid and then got up from his seat and scurried around the coffee table. He plopped down in the seat adjacent to Jordie. This seat was more central. He leaned forward and cleared his throat.

"It was late winter in Russia. Young Val was come back from rink after school and he saw guy running through street with cops after him. He have something in hand. Anyway Val no care and continue on. Val get home and find out guy steal jewel. Happen to be Pink Panther. Val no know what happen after but it vanish and then he hear it no longer in Russia. Val no know Ovi have it though."

"Who was the guy running in the street do you know?" Tyler asked, cocking his head.

"Net! Val no remember well but think it Ilya Kovalchuk...it look like him, a scraggly caveman version at least. No look like shave in long time."

"So Kovalchuk found the jewel and stole it?" Jordie questioned.

"Maybe. No know for sure. But big reward for return to Russia. But it true what they say about it. It curse alright. Val know Val remember see man with wild insane look. Sound like it common thing for jewel. No want insane Tyler."
