Budapest, Hungary
Third Person (Readers POV)

Ethan and Benji explained everything to everyone. They told them that Clint was not just part of SHIELD, but the IMF too. They told them that the three of them were under control, and they tried to escape. They said they had a plan to get all three of them out safely, but it went wrong. They mentioned that Clint said he'd hold the enemies back, and that he would meet them at the rendezvous point. They said after a day of waiting, he never did.

Once everything was said, Nick Fury ordered for the Heli-Carrier to take them to Budapest. When they landed, Fury organized a perimeter check around the whole city of Budapest. Natasha took Cap and a handful of other agents with her and followed Ethan and Benji, leading her to the last place where they saw Clint.

"He's somewhere in here, I'm positive." Benji announces, pointing to what looks like an abandoned warehouse. Natasha stretches her arms, walking inside first.

"That little shit better still be alive, so I can yell at him to death." She whispers, not knowing if anyone else accompanied them.

"You're his partner aren't you?" Ethan grins, matching up the descriptions Clint gave him to the face he was looking at.

"Excuse me?" She seemed dumbfounded.

"Natasha Romanoff, the Black Widow. You're Brandt's partner."

"Barton." She corrects.

"Hey, if you can call him whatever you want, we're calling him whatever we want." Benji hints at the part when Natasha called Barton the 'little shit,' then moves ahead of her. Natasha ever so childishly stuck her tongue out at him, and continues to follow. They come across an intersection that goes four different ways.

"Let's split up. Each of us leading a group of three." Cap suggests. They all nod in agreement, took two agents each, and part ways.

"Is everyone's comm system working?" Natasha lifts her finger to her ear.

"We're all on the same signal?" Ethan replies.

"Yeah, just keep a look out. This is one spooky-ass place." Benji continues to look around the halls.

"Shout if you need backup. Call if you find Barton." Steve ends the short conversation, leaving the four of them to search the place in eerie silence.

Clint was in one of the rooms. He could hear them loud and clear. His arms tied behind him to the large, wooden chair he was sitting on, and gagged. Right next to him, an enemy agent ready to fire at anyone entering the door. Whoever opens that door gets shot twice. It was aimed so that an average height person would get shot in the head and near their stomach.

Whoever would come saving him, and opening that door, would for sure be dead. The person also had given him new hearing aids, to torture him even further, letting him not only see the death, but hear it also.

"Clint?" Natasha called out. Clint lifted his head, recognizing that voice. He couldn't let her find him. He couldn't let her get killed. He tried thinking of everything. He tried being so loud that he could possibly warn her not to come this way.

"Wait, I think I heard something." He could clearly hear her turning in the direction where this room was at. He cursed at himself for thinking that was a smart idea. He tried being quiet too. Same thing. Nothing was going to work. She was going to die because of him, and he would never live it down. Unless...

Clint looked behind him, and saw the man firmly holding two guns in his arms. He noticed that he was a few inches behind the chair he was sitting on. He had a not so genius plan, but decided to go with it anyway.

"Clint? Come on, I know you're here." He could hear her voice. He was starting to panic, the man behind him stayed calm. Clint needed to hurry in order for this to work. He needed to be swift and agile in order for this to work. He tries shedding the tiniest bit of light on the situation, but fails to do so.

Natasha and the two agents she brought with her cautiously open every door they could find in the hallway they were sent to search. Clint heard them getting closer. He looked at the man again, finally noticing that this was a bad idea. He obviously started to get nervous. He had to be so precise and on time for this to work. You're doing it for Nat. He said in his mind, to calm himself.

"In here." The sound of doors opening and closing grew louder and louder. It finally got so quiet that he could hear Natasha's boots hit the ground slowly whenever she stepped. He heard her place her hand on the doorknob, once he saw it turn, he took a deep breath and thought, for Nat. The second the door opened, Clint used all his core strength to make the chair jump and land on the agent's foot behind him. Due to the surprise, he accidentally lowered his guns, shooting Clint instead of his target.

"Clint!" Natasha dropped her flashlight when she heard the two ear piercing gunshots. When she saw the near dead body lying on the chair, she let all her rage and fury out on the man to blame. Natasha didn't stop beating the enemy agent until Steve found her and restrained her from beating the crap out of someone already dead. She let go of his grip then dropped on her knees next to Clint.

"No, no, come on Clint, please, no." She untied all the ropes holding him down, and removed the gag. She turned his body around to see the shots. Two bullet wounds. On his head and his upper back.

"Shit." Natasha breathes heavily, slowly starting to let out a more than a few tears. She turned him back around and checked his pulse.

"Come on, please." She lifted his wrist and placed two fingers on it. He's not so much surviving. She heard footsteps approach the door, and by instinct she pulls her gun out.

"It's just me-" Sam  cuts his sentence short when he sees the barely living body in Natasha's arms. "Shit." Wanda shortly follows, covering her mouth from an escaping gasp.

"We're losing him. We have to leave, now." Both of them put Clint's arms over their shoulders and move as fast as they can to get him to the Heli-Carrier. They meet up with Ethan and Benji on the way, and jog inside, letting the surgeons take Clint away.

The rest of the Avengers run up to Natasha when they see Clint being dragged away, silently asking what happened. All she could do was sit down, put her head in her hands, and cry.

"I didn't give you permission to die."
