Looking up at her,
She saw shine in her eyes take birth,
A smile pushing her cheeks apart,
A flush brightening her face.

"You did well,my child",
She said,
With the brightest smile,
She could muster.

She patted her head,
Smiled once more,
And left her standing there,
Astonished.

For the first time in her life,
She witnessed her one and only mom,
Smiling not at her lovers,
But at her.

For the first time in her life,
She witnessed her one and only mom,
Looking at her with pride in her eyes,
Only at her.

Her mother's love,
However rare she received,
Was something,
She wished to cherish.
