PEACE

peace is not necessarily
silence. sometimes peace
is being calm in the core of your existence, even with a storm
raging all around you.
sometimes quiet is violent.
sometimes violence thrives on
silence, on lips that refuse to
speak the truth and mouths that
cannot grasp the language of honesty. honesty. my peace
comes in honesty. in admittance
and forgiveness, in
giving second chances but
knowing when to say no. say no.
people need to learn to say no
to negativity. black holes of
hostility swirling beneath the
tranquil demeanor of society.
the antagonism plaguing every corner of this planet--
that's what people need to avoid. avoidance. avoidance
prevents peace. we need to
face our difficulties, attempt to
understand complexities,
fight back against our struggles
and be undeterred by troubles
because sometimes violence
is peace set on fire. sometimes
people fight for serenity.
sometimes people do the wrong thing just so they can find their way back eventually. we cannot take
the word peace at face value.
peace is perhaps one of the most
complex words in the
english language. in any language.
peace comes to me in the form
of truth. of trust. of music and passion and controversial things
like fire and fighting but
it's my peace. peace is what
keeps me calm. peace is what
brings me positivity.
and when, in this world, sins can easily disguise themselves as virtues,
we need to stay true to ourselves
and know who we are, at the
cores of our beings. if there was
no disagreement over the
definition of a word, the word
would have no true meaning
at all.
