A/N Hi! I wrote this chapter in the car when I was going home from London. We had to stop in Whitechapel to do some shopping and I was sick so I had to stay in the car. I didn't have Wi-Fi and I couldn't get my parents' hotspot so it MIGHT be a bit different. Anyway... I hope you enjoy! ;D

Rubbing the salt water from his face, Cody dropped to the ground and dug his head in between his knees, shaking uncontrollably. He hadn't the energy to cry anymore. He was worn out. His sandy blonde and scruffy hair had gone all over the place and his face was covered in sweat. The defiant grin he once possessed was now gone like the wind. There was no more mock sarcasm, cheekiness or exhilaration left in him. Cody's expression was even more rampant then it was when that bullet was flying at him. He was once again that frightened little boy Meadow came across when they first saw each other that day.

Meadow's own tears were layering up in her eyes. She only needed one tiny explosive to make the whole mountain collapse into rubble, smoke and dust. "Even if they weren't our pets. And they were those robots instead," started Cody, still weeping turbulently, "we still killed two mortals..."

That was all it took. For the landslide to take place.

The older wizard fell to the floor with a dull thud. She had no longer bothered to looked composed. She had perceived of her acts. She was stupor to her surroundings. She realised they were in an inextricable position.
"What I have just done has bordered nearly all the pledges of the Spark Manifesto." Meadow thought to herself, not knowing whether she was speaking the truth. The Spark didn't want to shed her tears, but nonetheless she cried her heart out. She bawled out her eyes until they were a bright shade of red. Meadow wept and wailed until she had no more tears left. After what seemed like an eternity, she had finally ceased her sorrowful cries.

Her jet black hair was loosely in a ponytail but was on the verge of falling. Meadow decided to take a breather. She got up from the marble floor; gently tugged off her hair band; and quickly ran a hand through her hair to straighten the tangled parts. Then she pulled her hair up into a high ponytail; kept a small strand of it at the front left side of her forehead - which became her fringe; and tied her hairdo up tightly. When she felt like she a little better, Meadow quietly walked over to her friend, who was still hugging his legs nearby her.

She crouched down beside him and - without saying a word - imitated his posture. She brought her knees up to her chest, crossed one foot over the other and buried her face in between the gap. No sounds came out of her mouth. Cody was still breathing loudly, in quick and short breaths, trying to make sense of what just happened. A few moments later, he abruptly stopped but the Spark didn't look at him. She just continued staring into the darkness of her shadow. The male wizard bobbed his head up and waited for his eyes to adjust to the sudden light. He stared at his companion. Still no movement from his companion. The only sign of life was the small wobbles of her back, which indicated when she was inhaling and exhaling.
"Is she copying me? I bet she is! Or maybe she's upset. She's probably still sad. Or maybe she's asleep. I'm pretty sure she's asleep. I wanna sleep too! I'm exhausted!" debated Cody in his head. His eyes were saying, "Have a nap, Cody!" but his legs argued, "No, don't! You need to get out of here." Cody was feeling drowsy and his imagination took over his body.

The boy was at court. He was under custody. Cody's right eye was his lawyer and his left leg was the opposing one. The judge was his brain and the witness was his heart. Cody's other organs were the audience. He was standing on a platform, with Eey (the eye) and Gel (the leg) sitting at the long table; Hetra (the heart) on another platform, located on the other side of the room; Barin (the brain) at the front of the room; and the organs sitting in rows at the back of the room.
Judge Barin - wearing his curly wig and black robe, and holding his court gavel spoke first, "Let the trial begin." he gently hit the coaster with his gavel, "Should Cody be granted sleep or should he be forced to stay awake? Lawyer Eey, you may start with your side of the debate."

The debate was a long and winded one. It was filled with many repudiations, disclaimers and rebuttals. Although Lawyer Gel was given his absolute all for this case, any mere mortal (or organ, in this case) could tell that Eey had won this debate by a mile. Sending nerve signals to Cody's body, Judge Barin said aloud, "Congratulations, Cody. You are allowed to rest. This trial is closed!" And with that, he banged his gravel one last time before everyone sensibly filed out of the room.

Eventually, Cody became too tired to wait any longer and dropped his head onto his bent knees. Within seconds he was fast asleep. Moments later, Meadow lifted her head up and saw Cody was asleep. She cocked her head to the side and grinned at her dozy associate, patiently leaning against the wall. Minutes passed. The Spark got up from the floor and tiptoed to the window, observing the demolition outside. She tightly curled her fist into a ball

"Just wait, Stinger. I'm coming after you."

After 10 minutes passed, Meadow knew it was time to wake Cody up. She sat down beside him again and gently tapped his shoulder. Groggily, Cody moaned as he looked at his companion.
"Hey, sleepy head. Had a nice nap?" she asked, smiling at him. Cody replied with a small grunt and a nod of his head. "Good, because we need to get going if you want to find your family." Meadow stood up again and held out a hand. Cody grabbed it and heaved himself up. They raced down the hallway, made a sharp left turn and ran towards their destination...

The school basement.
