Jill's POV
• one week later •

"No matter how much make up you use, it won't cover it."

- flashback -

"Mom!" Rachel yells as she makes her way towards me as I lay on the ground.

"What have you done!" Rachel says yelling at my mother as she tries to lift me off the ground.

It's no use. I wouldn't get up.

"I-I don't know. Jill, I'm so sorry." My mom says, shaking.

"That's too far, dear!" My dad yells at my mom.

I just sit there. Shaking. Not even moving. Not even making a sound. No direct eye contact what so ever. A few tears slip down my face, hitting my cheek. I shriek at the pain it causes where I just got slapped a few seconds ago.

I take out my phone and look at my face. I slam my phone down, careful enough not to crack it as I just saw the biggest red spot, taking up half of my right cheek.

"Jill, I'm so sorry." My mom says in tears.

But before she could say anything again, I was at the door running for my car.

Rachel comes and runs after me.

"Where are you going to go?!" She says.

"I don't know," I say as I start the car, "but I need to go before I drive myself insane."

- end of flashback -

"Dammit! Why isn't it working?!" I yell, frustrated as my make up won't cover the fairly large bruise.

"Jill, I told you. Nothing can cover that up. Just stop trying." Jack says, sighing.

"It's been a week! How has it not gone away yet???" I ask.

"You did say your mom hit you pretty hard." Jack says.

"Ugh, I have to host this bachelorette party tonight and I look like this." I say, as I cover my eyes with my hands.

"At the bar?" He asks, moving my hands from my head.

"Yeah. If I can host this, I can get a raise and some cash." I say, running my hand through my hair.

"That's great!" Jack says, happily.

"Yup," I say, sighing as I sit on the couch.

"I think you should talk to your family, Jill." Jack says.

"Why? They basically said I don't do anything. I'm nothing." I say as the memory still haunts me.

"Your mom said she was sorry, Jill.."

"What the hell, Jack! You are supposed to be on my side not hers! Yeah, she 'accidentally' cause this huge bruise on my face!"

"I'm sorry, Jill! But family is the only thing in life that you got, you need to love them! Forget and forgive."

"It's kind of hard to forgive and forget when you get smacked in the face by your own family. By your own mother." I say, looking away from Jack.

He just takes his index finger and puts it under my chin, turning my face towards him. I stood into his eyes as he takes his hand and caresses my cheek.

I turn my head. I can't do this. I can't.

"Please look at me," Jack says, whispering.

I shake my head no, slowly. Till he takes both of his hands and puts them on my cheeks as he crashes his lips to mine. As much as I wanted to pull back, I couldn't.
