Rekindle (Ryan Nugent-Hopkins)

Chapter 2

It was the first official practice. It's going to be the first time I ever meet any of the guys. It's cool and all that my dad is an assistant coach, but I always kept it on the down low.

"They're all really good guys Lauren."

"I'm sure they are dad."

Everything on my mind right now was about Ryan.

When we got to Rexall Place my heart was beating out of my chest.

My dad and I walked in, I had a thin sweater on with the hood up. I honestly regretted coming with my dad.

"Stay here for a bit. I'll be right back."

"Okay." And my dad left.

I sat against the wall on my phone and was texting some of my friends back home.

I was texting Sarah when the light on me went dark.

"Do I know you?" The voice said. Damn it. I thought.

I looked up and he was in utter shock.

"Lauren?!" Ryan's face turned red. "I thought it was just your dad who moved here."

I looked at him. I got up, without saying anything and just hugged him. I hugged him like I use to.

We had our arms around each for a while. I started to cry, as the rush of all our memories came to me.

"Hey, it's okay." He said holding my shoulders and pushing me back.

I wiped my tears away. I just took deep breaths and Ryan just looked at me.

"Looks like you two found each other." My dad said.

"Ryan, watch her." He said patting him on the shoulder.

They brought me over to the dressing room, Ryan had his arms around me.

I really wanted to tell him how much I wanted him back, but I couldn't just do that to myself.

"Guys, this is Lauren." Ryan said, introducing me to all the guys.

I looked at him and he looked at me. "We've been long time friends." He said

"And my daughter." My dad said sternly and Ryan a laughed a little.

I went around, saying hello to all the guys. One guy caught my eye when I got to him.

"It's very nice to meet you Connor. Heard so many great things about you lately. Can't wait to see what you can do on the ice." I smiled

"Thank you."

"Lauren!" Ryan called me.

"What?"

"This is Jordan and Taylor, my roommates." I shook their hands.

"How long have you guys known each other?" Taylor asked

"Too long." I said and we both laughed.

"What do you do?" Jordan asked.

"Well I just finished with school."

"Oh, what did you study?"

"Athletic therapy at Mount Royal."

"Damn, so you could probably help around when the season starts." Taylor said
