"Make your move, Reindeer Games"

I watched as the lunatic I assumed to be Loki made all the corny outfit disappear. I wondered what kind of illusion was that. But ever since I convinced myself there were actually people from other planets coming to Earth, I promised I would never get more surprised.

Oh, if only I knew.

"Mr. Stark"

I nodded "Captain..."

So that was the man my father would not shut up about. Looking pretty good for someone who had been frozen for so many years...

Yes, I knew it was not fair of me. But as much as I tried it, there is just no connection between my mind and my mouth. I had this unconscious crave I could not control.

Besides, he immediately got into my nerves. I could not help it.

Oh, that was such an wearing night.

First, we had Loki.

Then, we lost it for the demigod.

Then we retrieved Loki.

Still, we had no sign of the Tesseract.

I watched as Loki did not protest at all, being just relaxed and peaceful, as if he was the only one glad to be there attempting to tear the team apart.

That was annoying me.

Plus, Fury was annoying me.

I just knew there was much more to what happened. He stopped requesting my presence and giving me things to do. Why?

He had to have found something to distract him.

And that something could not be good.

Had he been playing with the Tesseract?

Thor was probably right. Loki's attention would not be drawn to Earth if the Tesseract was saved and quiet.

Besides, Bruce was also right. The one bearable person in the room. And the one desperate to leave. I could see how bothered he was and yet, always so calm. Well, being the Hulk himself, he probably knew how to handle and hide his nerves and feelings better than anyone else. He even acted as if nothing happened when I nipped him.

Well, it was going to be a long night, and despite everything, despite how much I wanted to be with Pepper and going to DC with her, I also knew how important it was that the Tesseract was found. I was well aware how dangerous it was, specially lost and yet, in Loki's hands.

And I knew everyone knew that and wanted to find it just the same.

I spent all night at the lab, with Bruce, feeling everything except exhaustion. However, we did not just worked on ways to find the Tesseract, I spent a whole lot of time getting information Jarvis gave to me, on SHIELD. Of course Bruce knew what I was doing, and yet, the fact he simply stood indifferent to it, told me he agreed with me.

Phase 2?

Oh, of course, why did I not think of it?

Using the Tesseract to build nuclear weapons. Of course Fury did not need me anymore, while they succeeded in that.

That was when, instead of worrying with the fact SHIELD's operative systems had just been invaded, everyone turned to me and the fight begun.

"Phase two is when SHIELD uses the Tesseract to build nuclear weapons!" Cap suddenly appeared at the lab, after Fury confronted me. "Sorry, the computer was running a little slow for me" he provoked.
