Darkness
Dark and scary,
yet blinding at midnight.
Out by the lake
the black water swirls.
The slither of a snake can be heard
as it lurks through the shadows.
Wolf's eyes glow bright yellow
in the depths of the darkness.
Black is bold in the morning,
though blended in the night.
Stand out with black and darkness
in a portrait of colors.
Reminding you of sleep and rest.
Sleep tight as darkness cradles you in your dreams.
Author's Note: I wrote this when I was in 6th grade, almost two years ago now. This was a class project, and I thank Mrs. Stokes for helping me.
