Title: Fearless When We're Young

Fearless when we're young
Foolish but unafraid
Eager and full of beans
The shine before we fade

Dancing into danger
Jumping through the fire
Diving down dark alleys
Fulfilling our hearts desire

Summer lasts forever
Winter is far away
Joy is easily accessible
So many hours in our day

Bouncing like a rubber ball
Brick walls cannot hurt us
Falling off of trampolines
Worry is superfluous

Risk is not a four letter word
We save those for our enemies
We didn't realise how lucky we were
As we happily made those memories

Fearless when we're young
Before time takes its bitter toll
Winter comes too soon
An ice age on your soul...

...and winter always culls...
